Chapter 57: Meeting Young Master Qin!
"Huff! Wait here, I will go and bring those items..." Saying that, Elder went to get the items while Xian Tian stood at the door.
Soon enough, Elder returned with a space ring and handed it to Xian Tian.
"This is all the resources we have here... If you want more, I suggest going to the west mountains to collect them," Elder spoke earnestly.
"West mountains?..." Xian Tian nodded his head.
West Mountains is a place that is near the sect and possesses lots of rare treasures and plants however it is also inhabited by strong monsters.
"I will heed your words senior... "
With that, they bid farewell.
While returning to his residence, he saw a Young Master donned in fairy-like clothing followed by three men mocking a pitiful disciple.
Xian Tian's eyes narrowed as he observed the commotion unfolding before him.
' A young dandy-looking cultivator was tormenting a lowly disciple, surrounded by his fawning lackeys,'
Seems like an all-too-common scene in these cultivator sects, he mused while he thought it was better not to mess with them for a moment because the young master would utter courting death.
But he still didn't like that a poor guy was getting bullied.
"Ohh look at this pathetic worm, can't even defend himself against us. What a disgrace to our sect!" the young master jeered, kicking up a cloud of dust that made the disciple cough violently. "Pfft!"
His cronies erupted in laughter, slapping their knees in amusement. "Master Qin, you truly have a keen eye for spotting the weaklings. This one isn't fit to even lick your boots!"
Xian Tian felt a twinge of annoyance at the display. Bullies like this made his blood boil - he knew all too well what it was like to be on the receiving end of such cruelty because when he was on the island, he would get constantly bullied by Senior Tiger and Senior Crane.
Mustering his most charming smile, he sauntered over to the group.
"Esteemed young masters, what seems to be the trouble here?" he asked in a friendly tone not to anger the Young Master right from the bat.
"I couldn't help but notice your, ah, spirited interaction with this fellow disciple,"
The young master, Qin, turned his nose up at Xian Tian, sizing him up with disdain.
"Who are you to interrupt our business, stranger? This weakling owes a debt to our sect, and we're simply collecting what's owed." He sneered, flexing his spiritual energy menacingly.
Master Qin or Young Master Qin is a young master from the Qin family, his mother is a Concubine of Patriarch Qin and he is an inner disciple.
For months and so, he had gone out of the sect to meet his family and he just returned to the sect just this morning thus, he and his minion are unaware of Xian Tian.
Xian Tian chuckled, unfazed by the display of power.
"Come now, surely there's a more civilized way to handle this little misunderstanding. Why don't we all take a deep breath and discuss this like the cultivated gentlemen I'm sure you all are?"
He paused, stroking his beardless chin in mock contemplation.
"Although, I must admit - I'm a bit curious what this poor fellow could have possibly done to incur the wrath of such esteemed disciples. Did he accidentally spill tea on your pristine robes? Or perhaps he stepped on your delicate little toes?" Xian Tian let out an exaggerated gasp. "Oh dear, the travesty!"
Anything could have happened? Who knows perhaps this poor fellow breathed the same air as these heavenly young master
The young master's face twisted in rage at Xian Tian's mocking tone.
"How dare you speak to us in such a manner, you insignificant--"
Before he could finish his retort, Xian Tian raised a hand, cutting him off.
"Ah ah ah, let's not resort to name-calling now. After all, we're all cultivators here, are we not? Why don't we settle this with a friendly sparring match?" He winked slyly.
"I'm sure a skilled young master such as yourself would have no trouble putting an upstart like me in his place,"
The young master's cronies snickered, clearly enjoying the prospect of Xian Tian being publicly humiliated. Qin puffed out his chest, a sinister grin spreading across his face.
"Very well, fool. If you're so eager to learn your place, then I'll be more than happy to oblige,"
Xian Tian's eyes sparkled with mischief as he rubbed his hands together eagerly.
"Excellent, excellent! I do so love a good challenge," He gestured grandly at the young master.
"But before we begin, I must insist on a wager to make things more...interesting."
Young Master Qin raised a skeptical brow. "A wager, you say? And what do you have in mind?"
Xian Tian tapped his chin in feigned contemplation. "Hmm, let's see. How about this - if I emerge victorious from our little duel, you and your...charming companions here" he nodded towards the lackeys "have to treat me to a feast fit for an emperor!"
The young master scoffed. "And if I win?"
Xian Tian's grin widened.
"Well, then I shall willingly accept any punishment you deem fit. Be it scrubbing the sect's latrines for a month or...oh, I don't know, perhaps a thorough public flogging?"
Qin's lips curled into a sinister smile.
"Very well, fool. Prepare to have your arrogance thoroughly crushed... It seems you are new here, I am rank 1, inner disciple,"
The young master's cronies erupted into raucous laughter, delighted at the prospect of watching Xian Tian's humiliation.
But Xian Tian simply winked at the cowering disciple, silently reassuring him that the tide was about to turn.
"Shall we begin then, esteemed young master?" he asked, sliding into a fighting stance. "I do so hate to keep you waiting,"
"No! No! We won't fight today... We will fight tomorrow on Duel Arena with hundreds of people watching us fight," Young Master Qin said arrogantly thinking he would easily crush Xian Tian as a crushing ant.
"Hmm! Fine by me..." Xian Tian responded.
