Chapter 187: Chaos Being
When Atlas heard the creature's cruel words, something within him snapped. The memory of the woman flooded back—her face etched with sorrow as she placed him on the Runes and said, "I hope you live, my son. Chaos will seek you out, but you must fight and never give up."
He realized with a pang that this was why he had been adopted; Chaos and its minions had taken his real parents. As he grappled with the weight of this revelation, two notifications appeared before him.
[Void Punch Unlocked]
[Void Form Unlocked]
Atlas quickly pulled up the information to see what he had unlocked, but he was shocked by it.
[Void Punch: Uses your fist to channel the raw power of the Void to use against an opponent]
[Void Form: Transform yourself into a shadowy form but is heavy on mana]
'These will help me in this fight, I hope,' Atlas thought while using Void Sight on the creatures that seemed to know him.
[Chaos Captain]
[Race: Chaos Being]
[Level: 423]
[Rank: Master]
'I can run, but it will find me thanks to being a higher rank than me,' he thought while readying his weapons.
The Chaos Captain moved forward so fast that it forced him to cross his swords as a bone blade clashed against them. Atlas was sent skidding backward, and the impact shook his arms, causing him to become rattled.
'Fuck that hurt,' he internally complained. 'This is much stronger than me.'
While thinking, Medusa's voice rang out in his mind, 'Move through the ship! Get that evil creature to the hallway that keeps the seawater out.'
Following that, Atlas managed to deflect or dodge most attacks, but when the Chaos Being landed a punch, it shattered his armor, forcing him back while using Void Guard to try to get a break from the constant attacks.
It pushed him back to a large hall where he could use speed, but the creature managed to keep up, forcing Atlas on the back foot. While it was chasing him, he quickly summoned Kara and the Death Gorillas, who crashed into the Chaos Being.
The monsters started pummeling it as Atlas used the rest of his mana to summon an Orge King, who barreled through the portal and swung its massive sword at the enemy, who just threw Kara across the hall.
Atlas watched with excitement as the giant Dungeon Creature's blade nearly reached the Chaos Being, who caught it with one hand. When he saw this, his heart dropped, forcing him to go down four mana potions.
Once he had enough mana, he summoned the Hill Giant Boss from Blackthorne Hills. The massive monster roared, joined the Orge, and started attacking the Chaos Creature, and this time, it paid more attention to them.
When Atlas noticed it wasn't paying attention to him, he cast Void Punch, and his fists distorted with mystical energy before he sprinted forward so fast that he caused a sonic boom while dodging around his monsters and started punching the Chaos Being.
The creature was caught off guard but couldn't do anything as Atlas's fists slammed into its body dozens of times. Azure light radiated off it, causing him to jump back as small explosions erupted.
Atlas deflected the stray mana using Void Guard before casting Void Lance at the Chaos Being, trying to deal with his punches. He watched as the creature slammed its foot on the ground, dispelling the spell as it gazed at him with hatred.
He chuckled at the enemy's expression before teasing it, ''You're still weak even though you're a Master Rank. Pathetic.''
When Atlas said that, the Chaos Being twitched in anger, causing him to continue while he recovered mana; shortly after, the Orge rushed forward and tried punching the being who had dodged all the attacks.
'I need to get to the side of the ship,' he thought while glancing around. 'Medusa well tell me the plan when it's time.'
Atlas turned back to the Ogre and Chaos Being, who were fighting, but it was a one-sided struggle as his Dungeon Monster soon dropped to the ground after the enemy injected it with its horrible mana.
It went to rise, but the Hill Giant stomped on its head and sent it back to the Dungeon Realm as it challenged the enemy. The massive monster swung its club, but the Chaos Being deflected the attacks.
'The giant will lose soon,' Atlas thought before rushing in to help his monster, but it was too late.
He watched as the Chaos Being cast a spell that decimated the Hill Giant, causing it to collapse into nothingness, which shocked Atlas. That didn't deter him as he charged forward and dodged several attacks.
'Hopefully, I can use my speed against this creature,' he thought while dodging a blast of Chaos magic.
Explosions rang out as Atlas cast Void Punch. He swung at the creature's head, but it moved. He already planned for this as his other fist struck the Chaos Being's chest, sending it stumbling backward.
'Now's my chance! If I can land a few good attacks I can retreat to give myself time to find the side of the ship.'
Atlas took advantage of the moment by rushing into the fray and got close to the enemy before landing dozens of punches, which surprised the creature. He wasn't done and took out his blades while casting Void Infusion on them.
Without wasting another second, he stabbed them into the Chaos Being's chest before casting Void Bullet, which instantly exploded inside the creature and sent Atlas flying across the hall they were in.
He landed on his feet as the creature let out an enraged roar as its red eyes landed on him, and Atlas quickly noticed that it was losing control. The Chaos Being charged forward, causing him to turn on his heels as Medusa's voice sounded in his mind.
'You're not far from the trap Master. When I tell you too cast Void Bomb at the wall, then summon me,' she said in a panicked voice.
Atlas agreed before passing through a dining hall and then an entertainment section with the Chaos Being hot on his heels. The creature was angry and wanted to kill him, but he was faster and continued running.
Soon enough, the gap between him and the enemy was close, but Medusa's voice rang out, 'Turn right up here; as soon as you do cast your spell before using Void Step to get away from the creature.'
Atlas nodded faintly before readying himself. He pointed his blade at the wall and cast a Void Bomb. The azure spells sliced through the corridor and erupted into a vicious explosion that tore the metal apart.
They were sucked into the deep, and Atlas quickly summoned the Death Serpent, who promptly grabbed him in her jaws as a horrifying aura descended upon them. She rushed back into the ship.
He still saw the Chaos Being looking at him with rage, but soon, a gigantic monster shot out of the darkness and quickly swallowed the creature. Atlas let out a breath of relief as Medusa hid in the flooded hallway.
While hiding in the darkness, her voice rang out in his mind, 'We shall stay here until the Sea God finishes with that horrifying creature.'
Atlas agreed with a nod before curling up and falling asleep due to the mana exhaustion as he pushed himself into the fight. Hours passed by, and he woke up only to sense something nearby.
'What's out there Medusa?' he questioned.
The Death Seprent quickly answered, 'Blood Sharks. I had to kill some Blightborns and Fleshfiends that appeared. They smell the results and are investigating.'
After speaking, Medusa opened her mouth a little as he cast Aqua Lung so he could breathe. His eyes widened in shock when he saw the giant red sharks patrolling the inside of the ship but staying away from them.
'Lucky I have her otherwise, I'd be screwed down here,' Atlas mused while watching the sharks tearing into the corpse of a Fleshfiend.
He quickly used Void Sight to determine the monsters' rank and Medusa's.
[Blood Sharks]
[Rank: B - 800 Exp]
[Deadly hunters, but let the Death Seprent hide you]
'Interesting,' he thought. 'Maybe I can use Void Bullets to scare them away.'
Next was his Death, Serpent, and Atlas was shocked when he saw how strong she had become.
[Medusa]
[Death Serpent]
[Rank: S - 10000]
[She's growing stronger just like you, boy!]
Following that, he pointed Nightblade toward the hole in the ship before casting a Void Bullet that sliced through the water and hit the seafloor. The Blood Sharks scattered when the explosion erupted, making him laugh.
'Smart Master. Get to the vault to retrieve whatever you were searching for,' Medusa suggested while swimming toward the air pocket, which would lead him there.
The Death Serpent let him out as her giant head breached the water, allowing him to step onto the ship's cold metal. Atlas dismissed her before continuing the corridor while readying himself for a fight.
