Chapter 111: Light Armour (2)

When Lu Zhen's fist and the armored figure collided, the red-haired man, despite the protection of his armor, was sent hurtling through the air. He crashed into the wall, narrowly avoiding the destruction of one of the statues. A cloud of dust billowed up from the impact, obscuring the man.

"Hmm..." Lu Zhen couldn't hide his dissatisfaction with the punch.

"It felt soft, as if I had hit a feather," he muttered. His frown deepened as he gradually reopened his eyes.

The light in the room was blinding, which made the adjustment challenging for Lu Zhen. Not only was it because of the man's brilliance, but Lu Zhen's enhanced senses, though advantageous, also came with disadvantages. His heightened sensitivity to light and smell was one such drawback.

As his crimson eyes gradually adjusted to the brightness, Lu Zhen was stunned when he gazed at the man.

The man was clad in a knight-like armour that covered his entire body, with only his face visible within the armour. What made this armour stand out was the fact that it emitted a dazzling, almost blinding light, as if it were made from pure light itself.

"Fully covered in armour made out of light? Mages can truly work wonders," Lu Zhen remarked as he peered through the dust, his gaze focused on the enigmatic figure.

Unwilling to stay idle, he made a swift motion with his hand, like a saber's slash, conjuring a rotating whirlwind of force that expanded rapidly, hurtling toward the mage.

"Verdant Whirlwind."

However, even as the whirlwind encircled the mage, Lu Zhen noticed something. His internal qi was depleting at an alarming rate. The verdant whirlwind consumed a considerable amount of his energy, making it hard to sustain.

As the whirlwind swirled and engulfed the armoured mage, Lu Zhen closely observed the situation, his heightened senses on high alert.

But then, his eyes widened in astonishment at what he witnessed.

"Not even a dent in his armor?" Lu Zhen thought, perplexed.

"Hahaha, no matter how strong you are, I have preserved and maintained this armor from my era. Although it took me a lot of resources, you can't even make a dent in my armor. It was worth it," the man stated with confidence as he struggled to stand.

"Even a first-stage martial artist can't do anything against my armor," he proclaimed confidently.

Lu Zhen sneered, determined to challenge this notion. "There is no such thing as invincible armor, and I will prove it."

In a swift move, Lu Zhen vanished from his position, narrowly avoiding a small arrow that flew past him. The mage muttered something in a strange whisper, which Lu Zhen overheard.

"This won't work again," Lu Zhen sneered as he transformed into his Vulgrith form, enhancing his speed dramatically. He reached the man almost instantly and delivered a powerful punch to the mage's gut, sending him tumbling and disrupting his spell.

The mage's eyes narrowed as he struggled to comprehend how Lu Zhen had become so incredibly powerful, even in his Vulgrith form. The situation had defied his calculations.

A barely visible dent appeared in the armor as a result of Lu Zhen's powerful punch. It was so minuscule that an ordinary person wouldn't have even noticed it.

Ignoring the man's words, Lu Zhen contemplated why he possessed such incredible strength. It wasn't merely due to the Vulgrith form; it was also his divine physique, which significantly enhanced his physical abilities. Combined with his mastery of wood qi, which was renowned for its body-refining qualities, his raw strength had reached astonishing levels.

Thus, his immense strength was entirely justified.

"You can still feel the rebounding force, can't you?" Lu Zhen inquired, noting the man's discomfort despite his shining armor.

The man remained silent, his expression darkening.

"Do you really want to push m..."

Lu Zhen didn't let him finish his sentence. Without hesitation, he attacked, taking advantage of an opening.

"You bastard. I've had enough," the man roared. His eyes turned completely red from the pain and frustration, and veins popped on his forehead under the armor.

"Let's die..."

With a resounding crack, Lu Zhen landed a forceful strike to the man's head while firmly holding his body in place. The man's head momentarily snapped out of its neck, stretching slightly before returning to its proper position thanks to the armour.

"You…" The man's trembling fingers lifted slightly toward Lu Zhen, regret filling his eyes.

"I still had a little more mana left..." was his last thought as his eyes lost their spark.

"You talk too much." Lu Zhen tightly gripped the man's body, ensuring that he broke every bone within it, fully destroying his body, leaving it fully broken to the bones.

"This poor guy didn't understand that even with the strongest armour, you still need joints to move around, and that is the greatest weakness. The rebounding force can still be felt," Lu Zhen sneered as he looked at the caved-in corpse of the man.

"What should I do with him now?" He examined the lifeless body with a peculiar expression.

The man's armour still shone brightly, filling the room with a brilliant light. Although Lu Zhen could destroy every single bone of the man and could strike him with ease, he still couldn't make even the slightest dent in his armour.

"What the hell is this armour made of?" Lu Zhen thought, frustration tinged with anger.

"Hmm…" Lu Zhen suddenly turned back as he lightly raised his hand and tightly caught his head.

Revealing an old man dressed like a butler with a vile that the red-haired man was previously carrying.

The man had a terrified expression as he wanted to say something, but Lu Zhen didn't give the man any chance.

"Did you think I would not see you?" Lu Zhen had an amused face as he tightened the hold on the butler.

With a pop sound, the man's head directly exploded into a million pieces.

As a river of blood gushed out of his head like a foutain.
