Chapter 466: Chapter 466 - Why aren’t there any women?
Yet another major defeat was suffered by the Valantar Guilds Alliance, and this time it was a group led directly by their alliance leader.
This immediately caused an uproar on the internet. However, since their forces were still spread across multiple places, their hope wasn't completely extinguished. At the very least, they still aimed to inflict significant damage on Slumdon Town.
Attention now shifted to two groups that had encountered a contingent of knights. One group was met by three knights, while the other faced four knights-though it was this second
group that caught the most interest because it was led by a beastkin.
"Wait, zoom in, please zoom in."
"Damn, is that an elf? Since when did Slumdon hire elves as knights?!"
"There are three elves there? Wow! Is the one leading them their commander?!"
"They must be new in Slumdon. I've never seen them before!"
"Look at the other group of knights on the next stream-there's a beastkin, a bunny-girl!" "Seriously? Is Slumdon sending clowns to defend against this attack? This is ridiculous."
"What a waste... Such a beautiful elf, dying for a worthless town like that."
"Show mercy to the elf girl!"
"Damn, I think this is going to be an incredibly foolish slaughter! Slumdon is truly wasting its resources by hiring beastkins as defenders for a hopeless cause like this."
Elowen, now clad in her heavy armor, stood with her blonde hair flowing in the wind. Behind her stood two other knights-one a male archer, and the other a female healer holding a magic staff.
With her sword at her side, Elowen faced the dozen players approaching them. She drew herself up.
"Our commander has ordered us to stop all of you," Elowen said firmly. "You are suspected of attempting to bring harm to this town, and this decision is final. You have no opportunity to defend yourselves."
The players were enthusiastic, laughter escaping their lips.
"Hey, look at this, there's an elf woman in Slumdon? Wow!"
"Can we take them away from here? I'm sure they don't belong in a barren place like this."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Just kill the archer, I want the female healer for myself too."
Elowen replied coldly, "I'll add to your punishment by torturing you first, before killing you, for daring to utter such vile and foolish words. Clearly, you weren't raised properly, or maybe you were born from a whore's womb and brought up in a brothel, which is why all you spew disgusting things like that?!"
Everyone before her looked stunned, taken aback by Elowen's fierce response. "What?"
"Did you hear what she just said?!"
"Damn, I think I like this elf woman. Let's give them a little lesson and make them beg for mercy."
"Can you all just shut your filthy mouths so we can get this battle started?" Elowen snapped. "Ah, no worries, I'll shut them all for you-with my sword!" Her words once again leave them stunned at her choice of language.
The auto censorship system of the Immortal Legacy broadcast immediately muted Elowen's words, preventing anyone watching from hearing them.
"Damn, what did that elf say?"
"Why was it censored?!"
"Ugh, this is so annoying. Someone, please tell me what she said. Why does a conversation like this have to be censored?"
"Usually it's something inappropriate, but I can't believe something like that would come from such a beautiful elf."
Elsewhere, Mira and three other beastkin were surrounded by a dozen players who seemed to be figuring out how best to torment them.
"Hey, girl, why don't you just come with us?" one of the players said.
"Yeah, Valantar is much nicer, with plenty of good food to enjoy, hahaha."
"You're just wasting your time staying here."
"Even your lord isn't around, and they sent you here to die fighting us. What a joke! Hahaha."
Mira's grip tightened on her daggers, her face showing uncertainty.
"Mira, we're following your command," one of the beastkin said to her.
Mira, however, looked hesitant, her hands gripping her daggers nervously. "Uhm... I don't know what to do. Should we just fight them?"
"If you wish to fight, give the order. Lord Maylock appointed you as our leader."
"But I'm not fit to be a leader. I don't want to put you all in danger."
The players witnessing this exchange burst into laughter.
"Look at them, they're scared."
"And they still dare to put their lives in our hands?"
"Oh, what a shame. Such a cute bunny-girl-maybe we should let her go and just kill the others."
Mira took a deep breath, then spoke with a hint of determination, despite her trembling voice. "You have been judged to die," she said hesitantly. "We will fight you until none of you are left. That is the order given to us."
"Hahaha," the players laughed mockingly.
"I want to see how these dumb beastkin fight."
"Let's finish this quickly, then head to the town already."
Mira still looked hesitant, but then she spoke up. "Lord Broken has given us a place to stay.
We must fulfill our duty well-don't let them touch Slumdon even a little before they have to
get through us first!" she declared.
The three other beastkin exchanged glances, visibly impressed.
"Wow, Mira, that's exactly how to give an order."
"Yeah, Mira, you're doing great!"
"Really? But I was just saying what was in my head," Mira replied, a bit unsure.
"That's exactly what you should do."
On the other side, a group of knights led by Knight Commander Igor was accompanied by Damir the mage and Inggrid, the dual-blade fighter, all ready to face their opponents.
"This is so boring. I was hoping we'd get to fight the Ass Guild," one of the opposing players
muttered.
"Yeah, why do we have to deal with these stupid NPC knights?"
"They don't look strong at all. Just look at their formation."
"No support, and a Mage Knight? Hahaha. This is pathetic."
"These three dumb knights really think they can fight off this many players?"
"Yeah, I guess everyone in this town is just as foolish as their lord."
Igor stood tall, unsheathing his sword, and beside him, Damir and Inggrid also readied their
weapons, prepared for combat.
"You have been accused of intending harm to this town. We will not let you advance any
further," Igor declared. "You will be killed here and now."
"Whoa, look at the baseless courage these knights have, hahaha."
"They're just brainless NPCs, programmed to do dumb things."
"Come on, let's get this over with quickly."
The battles at all three locations began simultaneously, leaving the viewers completely confused about which fight to focus on.
From Elowen's side, the strategy was clear: Elowen charged forward alone, with the healer providing support from a distance. The archer stayed close to the support, providing long-
range attacks.
The opposing players laughed at what they saw as a foolish strategy, but when they saw Elowen's sword glowing with a bright green energy as she dashed forward, they began to
grow wary.
Elowen wielded her sword with precision and efficiency. She struck swiftly, then retreated to recover, her movements sharp and calculated. She effectively used both offensive advances and defensive withdrawals, keeping her enemies on edge. Meanwhile, the archer and the healer moved constantly, keeping away from the players who tried to close in on them. On Mira's side, the other beastkin were engaged in holding off attacks from all directions. Initially underestimated, Mira turned out to be incredibly fast, moving with agility that surprised her opponents.
Mira attacked with precision, aiming for weak spots and dispatching her enemies with lethal speed. Those who had originally dismissed her as the weakest of the group now found themselves on high alert, forced to take her seriously as she cut through their ranks.
Meanwhile, the knights led by Igor moved into action. Igor immediately charged forward, taking on seven players at once. Ingrid stayed close to Damir, defending against any attacks directed toward them.
What the attackers hadn't anticipated was that Damir could provide incredibly powerful magic area damage. Ingrid's swift movements and precise positioning ensured that Damir remained untouched, allowing him to cast his spells freely.
This unexpected display left all those watching in awe.
"Wait, why are those knights so strong?"
"Are their levels really high?"
"I heard they were personally trained by Maylock."
"But damn, there's no way they got this strong just from being trained by Maylock, right?"
"Damn, their fighting style and the strategy they're using are incredibly well-coordinated."
"Could it be that Maylock, the master strategist, really is this good?"
Elsewhere, other groups from the Valantar Guilds Alliance were also greeted by their respective opponents.
Goldrich walked towards them slowly, a smile on his face as he welcomed them.
"Hi, welcome to Slumdon." He paused, eyeing the group in front of him with a bored expression. "Why aren't there any women among you? Damn, this is going to be dull. Next time, consider bringing some beautiful ladies. That way, I might hold back a little before torturing you all, khi khi khi."
On the other side, Kingsley, in his human form, also approached the advancing enemies at a
leisurely pace. He smiled as he greeted them. "Sorry, but I have to stop you from getting any
closer."
In yet another location, Melliandra yawned as she prepared her sniper rifle, already positioned to take long-range shots. The sound of a shot rang out, and she yawned again. "These stupid players are really just wasting my time," she muttered with annoyance, as she
lined up for the next shot.
