Chapter 433: Chapter 433 - Chronic Sleepwalker
Chapter 433: - Chronic Sleepwalker
Elowen and the others had already arrived in Slumdon before Broken returned from the capital. Since Broken had asked Freya to host them properly, he also extended an offer for them to stay in Slumdon. To his surprise, they agreed rather easily, though he wasn't sure what discussions had taken place beforehand.
Elowen expressed that she owed Broken a great deal, and for that reason, she wanted to stay in Slumdon to help in any way she could. The other elves, though few in number-only five including Elowen-decided to follow her lead.
Mira and several other beast-kin also chose to settle in Slumdon.
Because of this, Freya had handled their official relocation paperwork, and now they were all officially citizens of Slumdon Town.
With their new status secured, Broken was eager to return quickly and meet them all. His plan was to assess their individual talents and assign them roles that suited their skills. He was at least confident he had gained two new fighters in Elowen and Mira, while the rest were a welcome bonus.
Broken arrived and stepped into the meeting room at the House of Slumdon, with Freya and Elincia by his side, just after they had returned to the city. As the door opened, all eyes turned toward him, and everyone stood, staring curiously-especially since Broken was wearing a mask that concealed his face when they met at Hell.
"Hi, Baron Broken... thank you for welcoming us to this city," Elowen was the first to wave, breaking the silence.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Broken smiled and joined them at the table.
"I heard from Freya that you arrived yesterday."
"Yes, and we're now officially citizens of Slumdon. I hope we can contribute to the city in some way," Elowen said with a grin. "The locals here mentioned you're working hard to build up the town, so I think we'll be able to help quite a bit."
"Yes, absolutely... I'm sure we'll find plenty for you all to do. No worries," Broken replied reassuringly.
Broken began conducting talent inspections one by one, with the group of twelve standing before him.
Elowen approached with a young elf girl, probably in her teens-the same age as Yara, though it was likely she was much older, given how elves age and live far longer than humans. The girl had long blonde hair and shared a striking resemblance to Elowen, though she appeared smaller and more delicate, like a younger, more fragile version of her sister.
"I introduced her briefly before, but I believe this is the first time she's seeing your face. This is my sister, Nimue."
Nimue bowed to Broken and spoke softly, "Baron Broken, I apologize for not properly thanking you last time. I hope I can contribute to this town as a way of expressing my
gratitude." She paused, her expression sincere. "We had almost lost hope before Elowen came to save us. And it was all thanks to you."
"Hi, Nimue. Actually, I wasn't the only one responsible for that rescue," Broken replied with a warm smile. "But I'm glad you all decided to stay here.'
[Name: Nimue]
[Level: 128]
[Spellshaper (S) - Efficient Housekeeping (A) - Pristine Cleaning (A) - Spear Mastery (B) - Wisdom Sharing (B) - Chronic Sleepwalker (B)]
[Spellshaper: Customizes existing spells, altering their effects and improving their efficiency.]
[Efficient Housekeeping: Completes household chores with remarkable speed and precision, freeing up time for other tasks.]
[Pristine Cleaning: Maintains an impeccable level of cleanliness in all areas.]
[Spear Mastery: Specializes in spear combat, excelling in reach and piercing attacks.]
[Wisdom Sharing: Imparts valuable knowledge and life lessons to others.]
[Chronic Sleepwalker: Tends to sleepwalk at the most inconvenient times, potentially causing disruptions.]
Broken analyzed Nimue's talents and was quite impressed when he saw her highest-rated ability—a rare S-rated talent: Spellshaper. Ah, of course, elves are naturally gifted with magic, he thought. This talent was incredibly valuable, and she could certainly focus on studying magic further.
But to his surprise, she also had a talent in spear combat. Perhaps Nimue could train in both spear and magic? It wasn't a bad combination at all.
In addition to that, she had talents in housekeeping and cleaning, much like Yara. Why not have her help Yara at the House of Slumdon? That way, they could both study magic together.
And then there was something strange-her Sleepwalker talent. He glanced at Nimue, who was now looking at him with a puzzled expression.
"What do you think? Freya mentioned you can analyze our talents, right?" Elowen asked, breaking the silence.
"Yes," Broken nodded. "Nimue has great potential in magic, spear combat, and even housekeeping."
"So, you really can analyze our talents, huh? That's interesting. Hahaha," Elowen chuckled. "And Nimue really loves cleaning. She's going to make a great wife one day, always caring for those around her, isn't that right, Nimue?"
Nimue just lowered her head, embarrassed by Elowen's teasing.
"Well, she did train with the spear for a while, but we never thought it suited her. But now it turns out she's actually talented in it?"
"Yes," Broken confirmed with a nod. "How about Nimue working here at the house while also studying magic?"
"Yes!" Nimue responded eagerly. "I'd love to work with Yara."
"Oh, so you two already know each other. Good."
Elowen smiled and guided Nimue over to Freya, while Broken turned his focus back to the
others, ready to continue analyzing their talents.
The three remaining elves. One was a male elf, an archer, another a female elf who specialized
in healing, and the last was a female too with a strong affinity for nature-perhaps perfect for tending to the farmlands.
As for the beast-kin, he was pleasantly surprised by their talents.
How could people with skills like these end up captured and sent to Hell? he wondered.
One of them was a young bull-kin, probably in his teens, with a talent for farming. Broken couldn't help but chuckle to himself, thinking the boy might actually be able to plow the
fields.
Another was a wolf-eared woman with gray hair, skilled in cooking. He decided she would be a good fit for the House of Slumdon.
The rest of the beast-kin were suited for the Knights. Well, I've certainly gained a good number of Knights this time, he thought.
Even though their levels were lower than Elowen's or Mira's, their talents and ratings were clearly strong. With Maylock's training, they'd undoubtedly become exceptional Knights. Broken felt satisfied with the progress he'd made. While Yara had been managing the House of Slumdon well on her own, she also needed more time to study magic. Adding Nimue to the mix wasn't a bad idea, especially since more people would soon be living there. Having a better chef in the house was also a huge plus-it would mean better meals for everyone. This would also save Ivana from spending so much time in the kitchen. No one had asked her to cook, and others even tried to stop her, but she insisted on doing it anyway.
Now, with a dedicated chef employed, Ivana wouldn't have any reason to keep cooking so
much every day.
Now, only Elowen and Mira remained for Broken to analyze.
"What about you two? What would you like to do?" He asked, looking at them both.
"Let us know what's best for us," Elowen replied. "That's what you did for the others, right?"
Broken shook his head slightly. "I'll give you the opportunity to decide for yourselves. Tell me, Elowen, Mira-what do you want to do?"
