Chapter 420: - Come over and try my cooking
"Master, sorry..."
Broken and Ivana turned to the side, looking down to see a small fox gazing up at them. It was Polly.
"Master... I've been useless to you... you can punish me if you want..."
Broken immediately sat down on the ground, reaching out to lift the little fox. "Hey, Polly... are you okay?" he asked with a soft smile. "You've always shown up at the right time to help me. Thanks for that."
"But, Master, I couldn't be there with you...," Polly whispered.
Ivana joined them, sitting beside Broken. "Hi, Polly, it's been a while since we last saw you," she said warmly.
"Ivana..." Polly replied softly.
Soon after, Broken decided it was time to leave the forest. He mounted Polly-something he hadn't done in over a month of Yunatea Time-and, yes, he realized how much he'd missed this.
This time, Ivana sat in front, while Broken sat behind her, slightly distanced. But Ivana leaned back against him, prompting Broken to place his right hand gently around her waist, steadying their position as they rode. It felt natural, a peaceful return to normalcy after all the chaos.
It was late afternoon, and the sun was just about to set on the horizon. The desert stretched out before them, a landscape of peace and beauty, a stark contrast to the chaos and desolation of Hell. After spending a full month surrounded by nothing but fire and despair, the fresh air and calm of Yunatea made Broken feel as if he could finally breathe again.
Next time I visit Hell, I need to be even stronger than I am now!
There was no telling what he might encounter in that dreadful world again.
The Named Demons were among the worst foes he had ever faced. But after all the struggles, he and his companions had managed to take down one-a Named Demon ranked 56th. And yet, its power was immense.
If a demon ranked that low could be so formidable...n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Broken couldn't help but shudder at the thought of what might happen if Gremory, the demon they had fought, had escaped into Yunatea. With her strength, she would have caused untold devastation. Most of the top players in Immortal Legacy were still in the early 200s, far from ready to handle a demon of Gremory's caliber. The death toll would have been catastrophic long before anyone could put an end to her rampage.
And what about demons ranked in the 40s? He wondered, feeling a mix of dread and excitement. Or even the 30s? The thought sent a thrill through him-equal parts fear and fascination. There was no telling how powerful those demons could be, and the challenge of facing them was both terrifying and irresistibly intriguing.
"What are your plans after this, Broken?" Ivana asked, breaking the silence.
Broken paused for a moment, considering her question. His mind was full of things still waiting for him.
"I think I'll head to the capital. I need to deliver Princess Alora's sword," he replied. "Can I come with you and stay in Deadbay City?"
"Of course, Ivana. I'll take you with me," he said, smiling.
Delivering Princess Alora's sword was his top priority, and the trip had a dual purpose. Not only did he need to deliver her sword, but he also planned to ask for her help with supplying Mana to the demon egg. Alora, as a royal with high status, was likely the only one who could fulfill the egg's unique requirements.
Broken was also curious about the sword's final grade. He'd be thrilled if it turned out to be Legendary-grade-not only would it progress his quest toward obtaining a Legendary-grade class, but it would also help strengthen Princess Alora in the process.
Besides that, before heading to the capital, Broken knew he needed to sort through everything he had gathered from Hell, including the armor and weapons. He planned to prepare those items for his Knights, once they reached the level needed to use them.
He still hadn't tested the Unique-grade gloves or the Legendary-grade greatsword from his latest raid. And yes-he now had a Legendary-grade greatsword! All he needed was a Legendary-grade bow to complete his set of Legendary weapons.
He also needed to check in on the progress of the town, which he had left under Freya's care. He sighed, feeling a bit guilty. He had placed too much responsibility on her.
I need to do something to thank her.
Freya had taken on the town's management not because it was her duty as a representative of the Golden Age Company but because she enjoyed it—that's what she had told him. Even so, Broken knew he should lighten her load and find someone to help with the administrative work.
Freya wasn't the type to be interested in high-grade items or power boosts, so perhaps he should consider giving her something outside the game. But what would she like? I'll need to talk to Lily about that, he decided.
And then there was Golemancer! Broken couldn't wait to explore that class further, but he was determined to put it off for now. He had to finish his work as a blacksmith first. Perhaps after he returned from Dissidia Capital City, he'd dive deeper into that exciting class.
As they approached Slumdon Town, Broken noticed a large crowd gathered near the town gate. What's going on? he wondered.
Soon after, he received a message from Elincia, explaining that people were asking about the missing Gorilla statue. Apparently, it had stirred up quite a bit of curiosity.
Oh, so they're wondering about that? Broken thought with a chuckle. The statue would return soon enough, no big deal. But the situation gave him an idea-why not fill the town with impressive statues made from golems?
Imagine, he mused, at the right moment, all those statues coming to life as golems to defend the town. The thought excited him-so many possibilities for the future. But, of course, he reminded himself that these plans would have to wait. He had tasks to complete, one step at a time.
Broken entered the town through a different gate, gently helping Ivana down from Polly. He took a quiet route toward the main city gate, avoiding the crowd as much as possible. When he arrived, he saw the spot where the missing Gorilla statue was supposed to be, now covered by wooden beams and cloth, making it look as if the statue was under renovation. In the distance, people were still murmuring about the missing statue.
He summoned the Golem and soon it took its place again. As he was done with that, Charmelyn appeared beside him.
"Hi, how are you?" Broken greeted her. "I'm glad you didn't get stuck in Hell."
Charmelyn took off her mask to reveal her face. "Hi, yes, I'm glad to be back in Yunatea," she
said with a warm smile.
Broken was about to log out, his game time almost up for the day. But before he could,
Charmelyn spoke up.
"I was going to cook at my place... would you like to come over and try my cooking?"
Broken paused, glancing at her. He thought for a moment. He didn't have any pressing plans outside the game that day, and he was feeling a bit worn out, in need of a break.
"Yes... sure," he finally said. "That sounds nice. I'll get in touch with you outside the game." Charmelyn smiled warmly, and together, they logged out from the game.
