Chapter 406: - Vampiric Corruption

[Bloodborne Frenzy:

Can be activated during Vampiric Swarm State. For every enemy killed by the bats, the user gains 15% attack speed and movement speed for 30 seconds, stacking up to 75%.

Activation: This skill can be toggled on or off during the Vampiric Swarm State, with the attack and movement speed boost applying as long as the state is active.]

Broken continued reading the next skill on the card: Bloodborne Frenzy. This toggleable skill could be activated during Vampiric Swarm State, boosting the user's attack speed and movement speed by up to 75% for 30 seconds.

Wow!Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The catch was that the bats needed to kill enemies to trigger the boost. But in a large-scale battle, this skill would have a massive impact. Just imagining getting a 75% boost for the full 90-second duration of the swarm, he knew he'd be able to move and fight at incredible speed. Whether using a melee weapon or a bow, his combat potential would skyrocket.

The only downside was that the effect lasted just 90 seconds. If only the duration were longer. But still, for a device-not even a weapon slot item-this Legendary-grade card had remarkable power.

Then a thought hit him: What would happen if I engraved Gremory's soul onto this card?

[Blood Shield:

Can be activated once the user has drained more than 30% of their maximum health from enemies. It grants a Blood Shield equal to 25% of the user's maximum health for 1 minute.

Activation: This shield can be activated at any time during the Vampiric Swarm State as long as the health-drain condition is met.]

The next skill, Blood Shield, was an ability that could activate during Vampiric Swarm State. While the previous skill boosted his movement and attack speed, this one provided a shield, making him significantly harder to kill.

This card's impact was undeniable, though the cooldown was fairly long-three hours in normal mode and one hour at night. The only downside was that Blood Shield required manual activation, meaning the shield didn't automatically apply. It added some complexity, especially with the sheer number of skills he now had at his disposal.

But with time, he knew he'd get used to managing them and adapting to different situations, maximizing the card's incredible potential.

[Vampiric Corruption:

This skill activates automatically when entering Vampiric Swarm State. Enemies affected by the bats take 15% more damage from all sources for 30 seconds after the swarm disperses. Activation: This skill is passive and activates whenever Vampiric Swarm State is initiated.] The last skill, Vampiric Corruption, was an absolute game-changer. Enemies affected by the bats would take 15% more damage from all sources. That 15% boost was huge-damn, this skill made the card truly overpowered.

Broken couldn't wait to try it out. The card, being Legendary-grade, already had impressive status, but this skill pushed it beyond just "amazing." It was something on a whole different level, and he knew its impact would be massive in battle.

He was eager to see just how devastating it would be in action.

Broken received a message from Marlene, informing him that all the slaves had been successfully rescued, and they were waiting in the castle courtyard.

He had no intention of revealing the golem to the rest of the Shadow Wolves, so Broken decided to keep it hidden for now. That meant leaving the golem inside the castle while he went to meet the others. And, of course, he wouldn't be showing Ivana to them either.

"Ivana, you stay with the golem while I meet with the rest. Is that okay?" he asked gently. Ivana smiled warmly and nodded. The golem opened a compartment in its chest, and with a graceful leap, Ivana slipped inside.

"It's okay. I'll wait here," she said, her voice calm, as the compartment closed behind her, keeping her safe within the golem's protective embrace.

As Broken stepped out of the castle, he saw several members of the Shadow Wolves gathered, along with a group of freed captives-humans mostly, with a few elves and beastkin among them. There were probably dozens, all looking worn but relieved.

"Hei!" Subaru shouted as he spotted Broken approaching. Since Broken was still wearing his mask, they all respectfully avoided using each other's real names.

Subaru, grinning broadly, rushed over, followed by the others, his laughter echoing through the courtyard. "Hahaha! I caught a bit of your fight earlier-man, that was insane!" Subaru exclaimed.

"Yeah, you were awesome out there!" another chimed in, laughing.

"Broken, I'm so glad you're safe," Calista said.

"Thanks," Broken replied with a nod.

His gaze shifted to the freed captives, and he noticed Elowen and Mira standing nearby. Elowen, uncharacteristically cheerful, approached him with a warm smile—a rare sight. She gently pulled forward a young elf girl with long blonde hair, likely in her teens.

"Hey, this is my sister," Elowen said.

The elf glanced at Broken, her eyes lingering on his masked face before bowing slightly. "Thank you for saving us."

Sister? So that's why Elowen was so determined to come here-it was because one of them was her

sister!

Thankfully, they were all safe now.

Broken returned her gesture with a respectful nod.

"Has everyone been found?" he asked, wanting to make sure the rescue was complete.

Elowen exhaled deeply, her smile fading as she hesitated, avoiding a direct answer.

Why? Broken wondered, sensing something was off. Were there still comrades or family members who hadn't been found? The thought lingered, but he pushed it aside when Marlene approached, diverting his attention.

"We're planning to bring back the others who were left in the city, maybe tomorrow or the

day after?" she said.

"Okay," Broken said.

Elowen nodded. "Yes, once everyone's gathered, we can leave this place."

Broken turned to her. "Where's your exit point? I mean, in Yunatea?"

"It'll be around Dissidia Kingdom."

"People from Dissidia can return to their homes, and the same goes for those from Slumdon.

But what about you and Mira? You're not from the South Continent, are you?"

Elowen hesitated, nodding slightly. "Yes... we're not."

"Let me know if you need a place to stay."

Elowen tilted her head, confused by the offer.

Leaning in, Broken whispered, "I'm actually a Lord in Slumdon Town."

"What? Really?" she said, surprised. "Would you be able to give us jobs and a place to live if

we come to your town?"

"Yes," Broken confirmed. "I'm sure there will be plenty of work for people like you- especially those with battle skills and high levels. And don't worry, the town is big enough to house your group. In fact, it's in the middle of development, so we need more residents." Elowen nodded thoughtfully. "I'll talk to the others about it."

Broken smiled to himself, feeling a surge of enthusiasm at the thought. If Elowen, Mira, and the others agreed to come to Slumdon, he could potentially recruit some of them with combat abilities to become his Knights.

After that, Broken spoke with Marlene about their plans.

"I'll take them with me," she said. "We'll talk later about the beastmaster thing-you're still

interested, right?"

Broken nodded. "Thanks, Marlene."

She gave him a faint smile, said nothing more, and turned away.

Soon, everyone climbed into the carriages and set off on their journey back, leaving Broken standing alone. It wasn't long before Blackthorn emerged from the castle, walking toward him.

"Broken, are we leaving now?" came the deep, characteristic voice of the golem. It sounded strange, though, because he knew it was Ivana speaking from inside.

He turned and smiled, then leaped up, landing on the golem's shoulder. Ivana soon appeared

as well, settling herself on the golem's left shoulder with a wide grin, her hair flowing in the

cool night breeze.

"Let's go," she said, brimming with excitement.

(Author's Note:)

Thank you so much for reading and supporting Legendary Broken Player. I'm honestly overwhelmed and can hardly believe it has made it to the Top 25 on Webnovel's ranking!

I was actually ready to give up on writing after several failed attempts-especially after recently getting laid off from work. With the pressure of finding a new job to provide for my family, I didn't think I could continue. But the love and support this book has received has

completely changed that.

Your encouragement has given me the motivation to keep going and put my all into this story.

I owe it all to you!
