Chapter 365: Chapter 365 - Steal the Sword from the Buyer
Chapter 365: - Steal the Sword from the Buyer
"This is the purest blood from a Royal Vampire Family," the host announced. "This is the blood of a direct descendant of the Vampire King. It's a highly sought-after item, known for its ability to enhance strength and dramatically improve regeneration."
A wave of gasps and murmurs of admiration rippled through the audience.
"The bidding starts at 100 gold coins," the host declared.
So, it was blood from a royal vampire family. No wonder the demon egg reacted so strongly- it must sense the potent power within the blood. Broken's curiosity deepened as he watched the bidders prepare to place their offers.
But should he join the bidding? How much was he willing to spend to acquire this item? If he considered the 390 gold coins he had earned in Hell, he might be able to use it all in this auction. It could be worth it, especially if it could advance the egg's progress, which had been stalled for a while. He needed to complete it before the Hell expedition ended-otherwise, all his efforts so far would be wasted.
Weighing his options, Broken knew that if this blood could help the egg develop, it might be worth the risk. The question now was how high the bidding would go and whether he was willing to match it.
The bidding quickly jumped to 240 gold coins.
[Broken: "I might go for it, but only up to 300 gold coins."]
He said in the chat group.
Marlene raised her hand and bid 250 gold coins, but the bidding continued. The woman who had won the Faery Soul Stone earlier then bid 300 gold coins.
[Subaru: "Broken, it's already past 300 gold. Are you sure you want to keep going? This price is insane!"]
No one else dared to bid after that, but Broken hesitated. Then, with a nod to Marlene, she placed another bid at 310 gold coins. Surprisingly, no one offered a higher bid.
"The blood goes to guest number 63," the host announced.
Broken let out a heavy sigh. Damn! That was a crazy price! I hope you can help me find plenty of soul stones in the future, little demon!
Broken could still feel his heart pounding after making his first-ever purchase at such an exorbitant price. He had never imagined he would reach a point like this in his life. It felt utterly surreal, and he was still struggling to believe it had actually happened.
The next item offered was something Broken and the others had been eagerly awaiting. Several attendants pushed in iron cages, and inside, they clearly saw the elf woman, a beast- kin, and several humans, all imprisoned and displayed on the stage.
Seeing this, Broken clenched his fists tightly. This was the primary reason he had come to this auction-to uncover who was behind the slave trade or at least identify the buyers who might purchase them.
"Oh, I'm sure you all know how enchanting forest elves are, and this one here is no exception. Just look at the smoothness of her skin," the host announced with enthusiasm. "And that's not all-we've paired her with this lovely bunny-girl. You can have both."
The host then gestured to the humans in the other cages. "And, as you can see, these humans are included as well. I'm sure you know exactly how to put them to use."
He continued, "Bid for these two slaves here, and these humans will be yours as a bonus."
The guests quickly began bidding for the slaves, with several bidders driving the price up to 800 gold coins.
[Subaru: "Damn, no wonder they're so sought after-their price can skyrocket here."] [Marlene: "Thinking of becoming a slave trader, Subaru?"]
[Subaru: "No... don't say that in front of Broken, he might get the wrong idea, hahaha."]
[Broken: "I wouldn't be surprised if you did something like this too, considering you're used to doing similar things, aren't you?"]
[Marlene: "You still see us as the villains, huh?"]
[Broken: "Can't help it, Marlene. That image sticks with you guys."]
[Subaru: "Oh damn, I never thought someone actually saw us as the bad guys, hahaha. Have I really gone down the wrong path?"]
The bidding continued until it finally stopped at 1,200 gold coins, with the winning bid going to guest number 75.
As planned, this guest was now their target for a raid once the auction ended.
[Marlene: "Alright, we've got our target. We're going to have a massacre tonight."]
[Subaru: "Jeez, Marlene, no wonder Broken thinks we're the bad guys. Your choice of words is seriously terrible."]
[Marlene: "No worries, Broken's joining us for this massacre, so he's a bad guy too, this time."]n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
[Broken: "Don't lump me in with you. I'm doing this for the people of Slumdon."]
[Marlene: "Okay, that's a fair excuse."]
[Subaru: "Guys, enough... You're talking so casually, but you're really just pushing each other's buttons. Hahaha."]
Afterward, Marlene quickly relayed the information to the rest of the team, instructing them to prepare. They easily uncovered the identity of guest number 75 and learned that this person was from out of town, which made things even simpler. They could intercept the buyer outside the city and carry out their plan there, where it would be easier to handle without drawing too much attention.
By doing this, they might even be able to save more people at the buyer's destination. While this approach wouldn't necessarily reveal who was bringing the slaves into Hell, taking down a major buyer would significantly reduce the demand, making it harder for such operations to continue. It was a step in the right direction, even if it didn't solve the entire problem. With their plan in place, they just needed to wait for the auction to end before executing it. However, another item caught Broken's attention that night-a Legendary-grade sword with a fire element was being offered. He had been looking for a new sword, and acquiring this one would be incredibly useful, especially since its fire element would pair perfectly with the Mask of Scorched Fury he had obtained from Infernak.
[Subaru: "Just steal it from the buyer if you want it, Broken."]
Subaru sent the message with a small giggle that Broken could almost hear.
[Broken: "You really don't mind embracing the bad guy image, do you, Subaru?"]
[Subaru: "No way! I mean, you already spent a lot of money on the blood, right? And I'm sure
that sword would be perfect for you."]
The bids for the sword kept climbing, eventually surpassing 1,400 gold coins. Broken knew that Legendary-grade items were valuable, but seeing the price soar even further-up to 2,100 gold coins-was staggering.
[Marlene: "You realize that the Legendary-grade weapons you own could fetch similar prices,
right?"]
Broken had never really thought about the value of his Legendary-grade items, but considering how hard they were to obtain and the immense power they offered, it made sense
that they could be worth so much.
The sword finally sold for an astonishing 2,700 gold coins. Broken gasped in shock at the final price he couldn't help but imagine that if he auctioned off all his Legendary-grade items, he could probably retire comfortably.
But then a thought crossed his mind. What if he followed Subaru's suggestion?
