Chapter 214 High Priest Aaron

Thirty minutes had passed, and Hiro was still busy dodging the attacks that kept coming from Liberty and Cara. The two of them even used a ranged attack skill that was strong enough to attack Hiro. Meanwhile, Noah continued to focus on maintaining his fire seal and Jacob helped Hiro not to be hit by any fatal attack.

Hop! Hop!

Hiro jumped and spun in the air. His eyes repeatedly glanced at the woman who was still playing traditional music in the same place. He had thought about jumping at the iron needles to stop the woman. Hiro firmly believed that the music was the reason Liberty and Cara lost their consciousness.

“Noah, can you push me over to that woman’s place?” Hiro asked, still jumping and spinning in the air, dodging the attacks that aimed at him.

“Of course. But, are you sure it’s okay to do it?”

Hiro had no other choice but to give it a try. There was no way he could just dodge those two girls’ attacks forever. “Hurry up and do it!”

Noah turned the page on his Tome to search for spells using wind magic. Then, he found a suitable one for Hiro. A skill that did not inflict any damage and worked like a support skill.

[Windboost]

Noah made a magic rune circle using his fingers that moved very fast in the air, then pushed the magic rune towards Hiro who was waiting for him.

“With the divine permission of the wind goddess, you will get the help of the wind, WindBoost!” Noah said the condition to activate the magic rune.

Booshh!

Hiro could feel an extremely strong air pressure coming out of his body. A very thin greenish aura had covered him. His body suddenly felt light and his feet were no longer on the ground. He continued to rise two meters above the air. When he moved his legs to the left, his body also shifted in the air like he was flying without wings.

“Wow!” Hiro was amazed at what Noah could do with his various elemental magic.

“Quick, the effect only lasts for 10 minutes!” Noah shouted, giving a warning to Hiro who was a bit distracted.

Hiro nodded his head, and he immediately ran through the air towards the place where the woman was. However, even though he had managed to get past the iron needles, Liberty’s bullet and Cara’s shuriken continued to target him. The distance was not a problem for either of them.

Jacob wielded his shield steadily. He had a skill that could be activated for a certain time and kept Hiro protected from both Liberty and Cara’s attacks at the same time.

[Shield Expansion]

The round shield that Jacob had been holding with both hands suddenly increased in size. Jacob stood in the middle of the room while covering Hiro who was already busy with the other task.

With Shield Expansion, the shield carried by Jacob had turned into a giant wall that made any type of weapon unable to pass through.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The silver bullet from Liberty’s weapon as well as the shuriken thrown by Cara had stuck to the surface of Jacob’s shield.

Hiro returned his focus to the woman who was playing the music. After the time to fly was up, he landed smoothly on the same floor as the female musician. He stood in front of her and walked over to her. Even so, the woman did not budge and refused to lift her face.

Not knowing what to do, Hiro was more interested in taking the Batarang. He used it to cut off the three strings on the musical instrument that the woman was playing, so the music was stopped.

The woman looked at Hiro with a pair of terrifying black eyes. The skin on her face had turned pale, too pale, as if she had put on too much white make-up.

Hiro looked back to check the condition of Cara and Liberty who seemed fine. The two girls just fell to their knees and looked back at them with confused looks.

“Where am I? What am I doing here?” Liberty asked, while massaging her suddenly very tired body. Cara did the same thing, but she remained silent. Her eyes found the flames that surrounded her, and she immediately turned to look at Noah with a disapproving look on her face.

- “What did you do to me, Noah?” Cara hissed in displeasure. Noah immediately freed her after confirming that the girl had returned to normal state.

Hiro took a deep breath, feeling relieved. This time, his focus had returned to the woman who was still sitting across from him. As Hiro stared at the woman, the woman suddenly spoke to him.

“The Key,” she hissed in a sinister voice. For the first time, Hiro saw the row of yellowed pointed teeth behind the beautiful woman’s mouth. He was a little surprised, but he instantly understood the meaning of the woman’s words.

Hiro took out a key he got from winning the chess mini game a while ago. After considering it, he decided to give the key to the woman in front of him. It made the woman smile.

“Thank you,” she said, still in a hiss.

The next scene made Hiro almost vomit. The woman’s heart suddenly came out of her chest while still beating at a normal rhythm like a heart should be. It was covered in fresh blood.

The woman used the key Hiro gave her to touch her odd-looking heart once, like knocking on it.

Ting!

[Congratulations! NightFall’s party has completed the haunted house dungeon and cure the cursed lady’s heart]

[Everlasting Fame has been increased]

The woman’s heart suddenly seemed to harden like a rock then blackened before going back into her chest. Hiro frowned in confusion. The woman smiled at him with a very wide smile. However, in the next second, her skin slowly shrunk as if it was being sucked in from within.

The previously chubby cheeks and skin that looked very healthy had been replaced with thin and wrinkled skin. The beautiful woman turned into a granny before finally breaking down into human bones, leaving her skull alone.

[The cursed lady is a demon who pretends to be human all her life. Her secret is not revealed until one day she married a prince who was blinded by his beauty. The prince was willing to leave the palace to live alone with the cursed lady in this building. However, the prince began to know that his lover was not a human when she gave birth to their first child. Zombies, demons of all kinds, undead. No human was born from that woman. Feeling cheated, the prince asked the high priest for help in punishing his wife and the first children, which consisted of 100 different creatures.]

Hiro and the others carefully read the stories about what really happened inside the building. There were no clues from the story other than the place’s connection to the high priest Hiro was looking for.

Hiro got the information about the dungeon’s existence from the book Noah had translated. He had to come to that place and end the curse. That was why Noah knew where Hiro was going and supposedly got lost.

Ding!

[You have obtained the high priest’s charm: Aaron’s Charm]

“I got it,” Hiro muttered, telling Noah who just nodded in relief.

[Your party member: Liberty has obtained Beautiful Chinese Ornamental Dress]

[Your party member: MyPhantom has obtained Broken Geomungo (Korean Traditional Music Instrument)]

“Is that all?” Noah grumbled because he got nothing. He protested again to the system, which still gave him nothing. Meanwhile, Jacob who had the same fate as Noah could only grin while rubbing the back of his head.

[The haunted house has been cleared from the curse. Everyone will be free now]

Ding!

[You will be kicked out of the dungeon]

Ding!

[Liberty left the party]

[Noah left the party]

[Jacob left the party]

[MyPhantom left the party]

The four of them were automatically being kicked out of the building and appeared in front of the building. The building suddenly shook, then collapsed after all those trapped in it were simply thrown out.

Hiro saw that there were more than 11 other players who were forcibly being kicked out of the building. They looked confused. It seemed they were about to give up playing the game. Even their level was far behind from the world level.

“Did you guys do it?” a man asked, walking with his body bent over. He looked like he just woke up.

“Right, his name was announced a while ago. Nightfall,” said a young man who looked still energetic compared to the others.

The first man walked up to Hiro and tapped him on the shoulder.

“Thank you so much. I almost gave up playing this game because I could get stuck in that damn old building, even though I’ve used all my savings to buy this VR game. From now on, I can focus on finding items that can be sold in the market,” the man explained, feeling very grateful as he looked at Hiro.

“You’re welcome. Please continue your work.” Hiro replied briefly, then walked back towards the three comrades who were waiting for him.

“Thank you for coming. I’ll probably be stuck there somehow if you guys don’t come.” Hiro bowed before Jacob, Noah, and Cara.

Cara and Noah seemed to be enjoying the moment, but Jacob quickly told Hiro to stand up straight again.

“Don’t worry, Buddy. It’s our job, isn’t it? Helping each other because we are family.” Jacob reminded him.

“I’m sure that you’ll also come for me if I’m the one stuck there,” he added, making Hiro feel a little relieved.

Meanwhile, Liberty suddenly screamed while staring at the transparent screen in front of her.

“Kyaa! It’s bad! Why did Ace call me more than 100 times? Is he in trouble?”
