Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 910: Before they depart

[Eon's POV: ]

"Hmm?"

A week has passed since we came back, so now it was time for us to tell her the hard thing.

"You will be gone? Where?"

"We cannot tell you that. Actually, the two of us aren't the only ones who will be gone."

The Grand conference was approaching so now that we have rested enough, it was time to get on with the final preparations.

They were not going to be easy since there were a lot of things that we needed to compile, data that we had to sort out and things that we still needed to learn from mom and grandmother.

There was not much time left, so we had to do the training for the following few days as well so she won't be seeing us for a while.

"Grandmother, mom, Grandfather, Rein's parents and grandparents, as well as the two of us won't be around for a few days."

Quin had pretty much become a part of the family and though she was still not as close with the staff members and the others, she was pretty open with the family members of both our families and was somewhat like Zoe to the rest of us.

"You all will be gone? Is it some secret noble thing that all of you will have to go through?"

"You… can say that? Well, it's a pretty big thing so you might know about it as well."

We were in the kitchen right now, and she was helping me prepare some things along with Anna, Zoe, and Rein.

The rest of them were playing around in the garden, the mothers were busy with their things so they weren't around and our fathers were doing some work as well.

For now, we were free and there was nothing to do right now.

There was nothing fun to do either for now, so everyone was being lazy, playing, reading, practising swords, or just chatting around the house.

The four of us were in the kitchen as well so there was pretty much nothing interesting going on from anyone's perspective.

Well… Anna was sad, if it counted as a big thing.

"Hmmm… I don't know what you are talking about but I understand. If all of you are going, the house will seem pretty empty."

"That's why I'm asking you to take care of everyone when we aren't around."

"Hmm?"

She was still new to everything here, but she had adapted well and there was nothing too complicated that she needed to know anymore.

She had Anna, she had Zoe, and she had the rest of them. Even if something big happens that requires our attention, she should be able to handle it along with them.

"Why are you asking me? What can I even do?"

She was confused why I was asking her to take care of things when we were gone when she didn't even know what things I was telling her to take care of.

Well…

"You see, Carla doesn't understand when to stop her training so someone has to remind her every time she stays in the training ground for more than six hours that it has been six hours.

Alf is very lazy so if her mom or someone else isn't around to tell him to go out and do something, he would just stay in his room and do practically nothing.

Chry is a good boy, but he has to do something other than what the other knights do… he isn't just a knight of the house, he's family as well.

Even Zoe cannot handle Anna all the time so she needs someone with her and when mom or grandmother isn't around, she tends to go wild and gather all the creatures and do stuff that would technically be dangerous.

Anna gets sad without people around, and since she knows we are going out for work, she will be sad sometimes. Having someone other than Zoe is necessary.

Then there's other affairs…"

There was a lot that we do when we are home. And there is a lot that would need someone's attention.

Someone other than the people that would be left in the house.

"The knight training and mage's guidance… well, there are also a bunch of other things."

"..."

I knew she already lost me midway, but now that I had stopped and she still was left in her own zone, I had to take her out of it somehow.

"Anna, how are the cupcakes doing?"

"...uhn, uhn. They… are fine…"

She was sad and almost crying over how we won't be around even though it would only be for a few days.

The others did not know where we would be going exactly. No one other than the individuals directly attending the grand conference and their direct spouses were the only ones that were allowed to know about this conference.

There were many restrictions on information sharing so not even the people who would be attending the conference would know the exact location of the destination until they departed for the conference.

The gathering of all the important people of the world was a very special event so many of the individuals don't even officially leave their posts.

Some of them are assigned 'substitutes' by the headmaster himself so it is never known when they will go out or what they will be doing.

'The whole of the grand conference is a very complicated process that very few people in the entire world know about.'

It is a kind of gathering that has been happening since ancient times… many important people, some of the very important and dangerous people as well, gather for it.

'Everyone who had the ability to impact the world significantly in any manner, be it through music like her father, or financially, like my mom, were invited to attend this meeting.'

The reason even Rakshasas attended this gathering was exactly because they did possess the power to completely overturn this world if they wished for it.

But the fact that the true followers of the demons only went after nature and nature elements 'for most parts' was something that was unanimously accepted.

'Still though, there were many restrictions on each and every individual that was attending this gathering.'

The general restriction was on the information sharing and aside from that, no one other than the parties directly involved in the grand conference were allowed to share any kind of information about anything about it.

'If we weren't participating in the grand conference this time around, we wouldn't be allowed to know how things work here.'

There were a lot of restrictions on how much information about the past events of the conference one could share with others already, so not much is known about the past conferences.

Not much will be known about this one either. Just the fact that it happened and people gathered, and talked and made some decisions for the betterment of the entire world will be known– and that too would be by word of mouth.

There were restrictions on the information sharing through news and media as well so doing it was the same as a capital crime wherever they are.

"Gimme some leftover batter please."

Quin was still staring at me blankly even after a few seconds had passed so, there was no choice but to do something about her.

"Here…"

All three of us were avoiding her sad mood right now, since we knew how difficult and sad this news was to her, but we cannot do anything about this since even grandparents and parents are involved.

There's nothing she or anyone else can do to change what will happen, and she knew it as well. That was the main reason she wasn't actually crying and was just sad– something similar to her anger towards our little prank from last week.

"Not for me. Please put it in your sister Quin's mouth. She seems to have been paralysed."

"Hun…?"

Anna looked at her surprised eyes that were just blankly blinking at me, and understood what I meant by that.

She didn't say anything anymore since she was 'sad' and when I picked her up, she just placed a spoonful of leftover batter in her mouth.

Quin was still shocked, and her mouth was somewhat open so it wasn't difficult for Anna to push the batter in her mouth with her small spoon.

"Hun?"

And when she did that, with the taste and the new sensations of the texture in her mouth, she got back to her senses as I placed Anna down.

She was sad and she wanted to keep being 'sad' right now. We didn't want to disturb her so we just did what she wanted us to do until she wasn't sad.

This whole cupcake idea was hers as well, so we were just helping her right now.

"Hennn?"

And now that Quin was back to her senses as well, I looked at her… as she looked back at me, still surprised.

"So, you will do it, right?"

She was still new here but I had no doubt that she would be able to take care of it with all the help that she will get around here.

There were enough people to make someone tired and the work of all of us combined on the shoulders of one person was a lot… but she will have uncle Zhen's clone, Miss Moon, Anna, Zoe, and the rest of them to order around.

She won't be alone. So, she will be able to do it.

"Are… you serious?"

"Yup."

"Don't 'yup' me… Lucifer… you really want me to do all of that? Can I even-."

"You will do great. And I'm not telling you to do it for free. I will make you something special when I get back."

She would be doing a lot so it was just wrong if she doesn't get anything back for her work.

'This was a test for her and a trial as well. But I have no doubt she will do well.'

I wanted her to join me, join my [Lightshade] so this much should be no big deal for her.

"Please. Won't you help me this once?"

It won't be just one time, she obviously knew that, but I knew she would accept.

She was a good person, so when I was directly asking for help like that, she would have no choice but to accept.
