Chapter 64: Good Things Come in Pairs
Chapter 64: Good Things Come in Pairs
Just as Yuga was about to end his conversation with the system, a sudden "ding" sound echoed in his mind, followed by the system voice.
[ Congratulations to the host for meeting the Promotion Condition: Entering the Right Track. ]
[ Explanation: The Ecopark is officially completed, and the development of the host Day Care is on the right track. The future looks bright; please continue your efforts. ]
[ The system is about to undergo an upgrade. Please be patient, host! ]
"What's going on?"
Yuga was still unsure of the situation when he tried to ask the system again, but it didn't respond this time.
Since it mentioned an upgrade and there seemed to be no major issue, Yuga didn't dwell on it and instead brought all of his Pokémon from the store to the Ecopark.
"Everyone, this will be our new home from now on. How do you like it?"
The seven Pokémon felt the comfort of their new environment and cheered happily, then dispersed to explore their new home.
Floette, Vivilion, and Chimecho fluttered towards the flower field, dancing joyfully among the blooms.
Murkrow soared to the top of the weather tree, flapping its wings and making excited sounds.
Vulpix and Houndour went to the orchard and stood beneath a fruit tree, gazing at the fruits with fascination.
The composed Absol walked to the base of the weather tree, lying down to rest with its eyes closed.
After they had played for a while, Yuga recorded each of them into the sensing system at the entrance of the Ecopark, allowing them to move freely in and out.
Once everything was settled, Yuga went to his room on the second floor to prepare to move the 31 Pokémon eggs he had placed there into the Ecopark.
The environment in the Ecopark was more suitable for hatching these eggs.
One by one, Yuga carried out the 31 eggs. They weren't heavy, but with all the back and forth, he ended up sweating profusely.
Under the giant weather tree, Yuga set up a simple nest specifically for these eggs.
He also placed small gene-repair potions in the Ecopark storage, which were used to treat these eggs and readily available.
As Yuga placed the last egg and straightened up, wiping his sweat, two of the eggs suddenly emitted a faint white light.
Yuga knew that this indicated the eggs were about to hatch, and he felt excited, saying, "What a great day it is today, with good things happening one after another."
The other Pokémon also noticed the situation and wanted to come over, but Yuga stopped them, recalling the incident when Swablu hatched last time.
Yuga stared at the two eggs without blinking, watching as the white light grew stronger. Finally, after an hour, both eggs began to hatch one by one.
These two Pokémon were of the same species—small bodies, brown fur, and a light-colored scarf around their necks. Their large ears wiggled cutely, and their round eyes were incredibly adorable.
"Eevee, Eevee..."
As soon as the two Pokémon were born and saw Yuga, they started calling out to him in delight. Their cute and endearing appearance melted Yuga heart.
Indeed, both of these Pokémon were Eevee.
Yuga gently picked up the two Eevee, carrying them to the specially prepared sand basin.
The sand in the basin was custom-made, designed for the purpose of cleaning furry Pokémon like Eevee after they were born.
The sand was fine and soft, gentle on the skin and fur of the Pokémon. It also had effective antibacterial properties.
Newly born Pokémon had delicate bodies, and they couldn't be bathed with water. Sand baths were the best way to clean them.
Of course, not all Pokémon were suitable for sand baths, such as Water-type Pokémon.
For the newly born Water-type Pokémon, it's better to give them a proper water bath.
Ever since the birth of Swablu, Yuga had been searching online for knowledge on how to take care of newborn Pokémon. Today, he was trying out what he had learned for the first time, something he hadn't managed to do with Swablu.
The sand basin Yuga had prepared was spacious enough for the two small Eevee to move around freely. They seemed to really enjoy the sand bath and played happily in the basin.
As they had just been born, their stamina was limited, and after a while, they grew a bit tired. Yuga had prepared Moomoo Milk for them to drink, and one after the other, they fell asleep after finishing it.
Yuga gently picked them up and placed them back in the nest, instructing Floette to take good care of them. Then, he left the Ecopark.
Yuga felt he should raise a few Miltank. As the number of newborn Pokémon in his Ecopark grew, the demand for Moomoo Milk would likely increase as well.
The Moomoo Milk produced by Miltank was very suitable for newborn Pokémon. It not only promoted their growth but also enhanced their immune system.
While these things could be bought, it was a bit cumbersome. Being self-sufficient would be better.
However, Miltank weren't native to Hoenn Region, and Yuga didn't know where to get them.
After a moment of consideration, Yuga dialed Director Mond number.
After a short while, Director Mond rugged face appeared on Yuga communication screen.
"Ah, it's little Yuga. Did you call me for something?"
Yuga: "Yes, I do have something I'd like to trouble you with."
Director Mond: "Just tell me what it is. If I can help, I will."
Yuga cleared his throat:
"Well, I want to raise a few Miltank. I'm just not sure where to find them, so I thought I'd ask if you have any leads. Their qualities aren't a big concern; whether they're red, orange, or yellow doesn't matter, as long as they're healthy. Of course, better qualities would be even better."
Upon hearing Yuga words, Director Mond chuckled. "So, it's about this. Leave it to me. Miltank isn't a particularly rare species. As long as you're not looking for high qualities and don't need too many, getting a few for you won't be an issue."
Yuga exclaimed with delight, "Really? Thank you so much!"
Director Mond replied, "No need to thank me. Your parents and I go way back. Now that you're running the Day Care, we'll have plenty of opportunities to collaborate. I'll handle this for you. How many do you want?"
Yuga lowered his head in thought and said, "Six, I think."
Director Mond nodded. "Alright, I'll get in touch with you soon and let you know when it's done."
After ending the call with Director Mond, Yuga remembered he also needed to find a new staff member.
