Chapter 55 - Trapped And Hope
Chapter 55 - Trapped And Hope
"Your Highness, I think there's only one vampire left, and she's approaching us slowly. It seems our vampire hunters may have perished in their battle with the others," Reported a random soldier standing beside the prince, keeping a vigilant eye on the lone vampire.
Unbeknownst to her, a trap lay ahead. As she ventured further, a magic circle glowed beneath her. She was taken aback, searching for the source of this sudden magical phenomenon, but found nothing. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
She desperately looked left and right, turning her head, trying to locate the source of the magic circle that had suddenly appeared beneath her.
Far away, the prince issued a silent command with a gesture of his hand. The magic army behind him responded, forming a circle. Then, as she gazed up at the valley, she realized what was happening. Thousands of mages had assembled in a massive circle above the valley. They began to chant incantations in unison, activating the circle beneath her.
She desperately attempted to flee from the magic circle, but her efforts were in vain. The circle's magic bound her legs, rendering her immobile. Her face displayed a mixture of shock and despair as she realized her predicament. Then, in an instant, she disappeared from that location, leaving behind only a lingering sense of her presence.
After being trapped in that room for hundreds of years, she started to notice people entering. She fought vigorously to defend herself, but the unending battle left her utterly drained. As time went by, the visitors stopped coming.
She felt like a helpless bird trapped in a cage. The passage of countless years burdened her, and her thirst for blood grew into an unbearable, never-ending hunger that haunted her every second. She screamed in torment within the confines of the room, where her cries fell on deaf ears. Despair became her constant companion in the isolation. But just when the suffering seemed eternal, a tiny flicker of hope pierced through the darkness.
"But then someone entered the room, promising me salvation from this imprisonment. As I agreed, he cast a curse on me, binding me with these unbreakable chains, he told me that only the one destined to do so could break these chains, but it comes at a price. You have to prove your worth to these chains; nothing in this world is free, " Sirena concluded her story, her eyes reflecting the painful memories of her captivity.
Bong pondered these revelations deeply, lost in thought. The idea that there was a form of imprisonment magic that could condemn someone to a lifetime within a dungeon intrigued him. More intriguing still was the fact that someone had intervened to protect Sirena, even if it meant subjecting her to more suffering. It left him with pressing questions: Who were these individuals who possessed such knowledge? And how much did they truly know about him and his actions?
"Master?"
"Master?"
Bong's contemplation was interrupted by Sirena calling out to him.
"Yes, yes, I'm here; I was just pondering who that person was who approached you, " Bong replied, shaking off his reverie.
"But I believe we should continue our journey to seek those answers. However, before we do that, let me welcome you to the Twilight Sanctum, " Bong then turned his attention back to Sirena.
Sirena nodded, her face filled with a smile and happiness, knowing she was finally free from her long imprisonment.
As Bong listened to Sirena's story, he couldn't help but sense the presence of his loyal servant, who had been silently eavesdropping on their conversation for quite some time. His keen bat senses didn't miss a thing. With a knowing grin, Bong decided to acknowledge their faithful companion's presence.
"Alright, you two can come in now. Did you really think I wouldn't know you were secretly listening to us?" Bong called out to Eclipse and Seraphina, teasing them for eavesdropping.
As they both stood close to the wall of the room, attempting to eavesdrop on the conversation between Bong and Sirena, a mischievous plan to overhear some secrets, they thought they were being incredibly stealthy. However, their attempts at covert surveillance were far from perfect.
Eclipse and Seraphina both entered the room with guilty expressions, their faces flushed with embarrassment. Seraphina couldn't help but accuse Eclipse. "This was your idea, Eclipse, not mine!" They both trembled in shame as Bong chuckled at their reaction. "Hey, don't accuse me. It was your..." She gave Eclipse a gentle knock on the head to hush him. Seraphina, trying to keep Eclipse quiet, playfully scolded him.
"Cough, cough. Sirena, it's truly an honor to meet you. I had no idea it was you who saved us back then. I can't express how grateful I am," Seraphina said with humility and emotion, trying to shift the focus away from their bickering.
"Oh dear, it's alright. It was my duty to protect what was necessary. But as I see only you have awakened from your slumber and those three are still sleeping, it seems their time has yet to come," Sirena replied with a reassuring smile.
Seraphina nodded in agreement with Sirena, acknowledging that the time for the others to wake up from their slumber would come eventually.
"It was a dreadful story, how you lost everything. Let me offer something in return for joining our common cause. Since I can't see your twin silver gun now, I'll forge one for you," Bong offered.
Bong, with a graceful sweep of his hand, summoned forth the twin darkness guns for Sirena. They were unlike any firearms she had ever seen. The barrels and frames of these twin guns emitted a sinister, flickering hellfire. Within the darkness, intricate patterns danced like forbidden runes etched in fire, casting eerie shadows across the room.
The twin guns emitted an eternal darkness that seemed to swallow all light around them, and their barrels blazed with hellfire, ready to unleash devastation upon their enemies. They were a manifestation of Bong's deep connection with the elements, and they now stood ready to aid Sirena in their shared mission.
Bong extended the twin darkness guns to Sirena with a solemn expression, emphasizing their significance in the upcoming journey.
"Master, what about me? Have you forgotten about your faithful servant? I'm right here, you know!" However, Seraphina, who had been eagerly watching the exchange, couldn't contain her frustration. She turned to Bong, her voice filled with a mix of playfulness and jealousy.
