Feeling her trembling hands desperately clinging on him, Zhao Tian hugged her back and sighed in his heart.

Li Jie stood up from his seat and thought of leaving knowing that they should be left alone and Zhao Tian is the only one ho can console Mei Xiu now.

Before leaving he patted Zhao Tian's shoulder and Zhao Tian nodded back.

"Tiannn... *weep*" Tears streamed down Mei Xiu's face as Zhao Tian tenderly placed a comforting hand on her head, as he knew how important her grandmother is to Mei Xiu as she is her only family and she was working hard to treat her.

Zhao Tian moved and sat on the couch. Seeing this, Mei Xiu also sat on his lap side ways hugging him very tightly.

Mei Xiu continued crying, tears dampening down her cheeks as they wet Zhao Tian's shirt but he just continued patting her head, providing comfort and solace in his presence.

A little later, she raised her head from his shoulder "Tian... grandma, she is gone." She muttered, looking at his blue eyes.

Zhao Tian sighed in his heart, seeing her face red and her hair sticking to the tears in her face as she looked devastated.

He gently raised his arm and brushed the wet hair out of her face "I know, Xiu... it must hurt you a lot."

"I may sound rude... but crying won't bring back Grandma. You could only accept her death."

He gently wiped away the tears with his hand "And I am sure Grandma won't like you crying because of her."

Mei Xiu nodded her head "Y-Yeah, I won't cry... Grandma won't like that." She whispered, gently wiping away the tears that had gathered on her cheeks.

As she spoke, she tried to force a smile, but the memories of her grandmother flooded her mind, causing her lips to quiver uncontrollably, and Zhao Tian gently pulled her head placing it on his shoulder.

Mei Xiu closed her eyes and stayed silent, relishing his presence and the warmth emanating from his body.

A little later, she opened her eyes and glanced down at his shirt, drenched with her tears. "Tian, your shirt..."

"Don't worry about that. How do you feel?"

Mei Xiu gave a subtle nod, still on his shoulders, and spoke "I am good."

"Did you eat anything?"
