He knew they must be at work but they did pick his call. Mayra's response was she didn't really care and was happy to host them.

" But are you sure about this? You know how Kayla is, she might say something that could expose our plan." She said in a worried tone but on the inside she was enjoying him going through all the mental gymnastics. Who told him to act like a player? Most of it was his fault!

" Scrap that plan. I will also call Kayla and remind her about it. "

" They don't seem like bad people. Why don't you just come clean and tell them everything. Sometimes I don't know that if you are extremely courageous or just plain stupid!" Mayra always believed in honestly. It was about time he should accept that he was special, more special than anyone else.

" I am. After the fashion week, they would get ample opportunities after making their debut. I will be helping them behind the scenes so that everything goes well for them."

Suddenly, Samuel heard some commotion from other side of the phone and heard a familiar voice.

" Who dares to mess with my wife? Just tell me his name, I will put them in their place!" It was Kayla who came bearing several bags of food for their lunch date.

" It's Sami, Are you sure you can take him on?" Mayra said with a smirk.

" I can see you guys are getting a lot chummy lately. Didn't we agree to spend these following days together in the absence of Elise?" Kayla pouted feeling left out.

" I am sorry, I forgot about our date. I blame it on him, he is always up to more shenanigans always disrupting our normal lives."

" What did he do this time? Hello? Why are you talking to her? Are you trying to steal her away?" Kayla chuckled as Mayra proceeded to out her phone on speaker.

" Why not? Beside, I was under the assumption that it was buy one get one free deal. Without it I don't think it'sa great deal. I might have to look somewhere else for better offer!" He too chimed in on her childishness.

" See? I told you this guy is bad news. He is greedy enough to try to both of us!"

" Are you only finding it out now? You must always read the fine print before agreeing to the contract."

" Alright, stop! Both of you!" Mayra shouted, getting up to close the door. She was embarrassed as she was getting weird gazes from people outside the office. She only told them they were only joking around but strangely it didn't feel like they were kidding.

" Get to the point! I am extremely busy!" She shouted telling Samuel to hurry up. He again started explaining to Kayla what was happening with Elise and his recent guests.

Kayla listened patiently and was even excited that she would have new company to drink with. She would prefer him because he could hold his alcohol well but since they were Elise's benefactor, it was only proper for her to thank them.

Whatever plan they had was also cancelled. He told her to keep her mouth shut other than that she could do as she please.

Since they were heading to her place right now, she was going to inform her grandmother about it. Nicole would be enough to take care of them for few hours before they left work.

" How come you have so many problems? Are you really trying to build a 'club' with members from around the world? It seems counter productive because you always say that you want peace in life." Kayla asked.

" There is no such club, it's just figment of your imagination but if it really existed I really want to leave a special spot for you."

" That's your problem, always smooth talking without caring about the consequences. I really worry someday you will meet someone terrifying which could ruin your reputation."

" I never really cared about such things beside who could be more terrifying than you." He thought of one girl from a faraway land, that could top Kayla but he wasn't going to admit it in front of her.

" You know nothing about fear. I just wish you were in front of me right now, we could have settled the score once and for all!"

" Really, I always make you beg and kneel. What's the tally? Oh right, there is no reason to keep it because I never lost once!"

" Fuck you!"

Their lively conversation turned heated which led Mayra to disconnect the call. It was a common occurance as both of them behaved like cat and dog always at each other throat. But Mayra knew Kayla could never win against him but that's why she liked him more!
