Chapter 56  The Days That Rolled By... II

**3rd February 2020**

After the big victory against Vitoria de Setubal two days ago, Jason intensified his efforts at training, his patience to wait for a game having decreased by a huge margin.

There was also going to be a Taca de Portugal first-leg semi-final match against Academico de Viseu tomorrow and he hoped the manager would finally give him a chance to feature in the match, even as a sub.

So he was at training the day before, working on his individual attributes, and was going even harder at training today in a bid to impress the manager enough to have a chance at cracking the line-up.

Today the head manager had adopted an even more winger-specific internal scrimmage.

The players on the team were now restricted to two touches on the ball and only the wingers were exempt from the restriction making the training even more job-specific than ever.

This did not really hinder Jason and he worked harder than ever, managing to score two goals today but only managing one assist today.

**4th February 2020**

Jason was at the CTFD Portogaia training center for the entirety of the day as he still wasn't added to the team's line-up.

He could not deny that a little annoyance crept up in his mind when he had not heard his name being called in the matchday line-up when other players in the second team who weren't doing half of what he was doing in training had been called.

This was one of the matches where it should have been safe for him to get some game time as the opponents for this game weren't even in the Primera Liga and were in the lower-ranked LigaPro that the reserve team of the senior team played in.

Yet the head manager still hadn't chosen him and he could not understand why, but he still had to reign in his annoyance and continue his individual training while the players that were selected for the matchday line-up prepared for their trip to the Estadio do Fontelo.

Since there was nothing he could do to change the manager's decision, he decided to channel his annoyance into his training and for the whole day he was training with so much fury that he was breaking his previous limits yet his trainer mistook it for enthusiasm and kept giving motivational speeches, infuriating him so much that he forgot to watch the match due to how he was training so hard.

When he finally came to himself due to his muscles giving out, he realized that it was already past 8 pm. He barely had enough energy to get back to his boarding and could not help but think about how lucky he was to not have brought his car to the training complex that day as there was not enough juice left in him to drive his car back.

He had just cleaned up and boarded a metro back to his place as he was too tired to do anything else.

**5th February 2020**

Due to overexerting himself the day before, Jason had decided to take a day off to rest to let his muscles rest and avoid any injury risks. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Luckily, the team always had a rest day after every match, so he wouldn't technically be skipping training, but he could not help but wish that he had kept his cool so he would have not been so exhausted that he could not train.

He was not usually one to lose his temper due to having an unusually strong grip on his emotions, especially in his past life, but it seemed that now that he was so close to his goal, he was getting a bit overly anxious and he didn't like how it felt.

His anxiety had caused a lack of patience and irrationality and that had led to the situation where he overworked himself.

Jason knew that he needed to work on that and get his emotions under control so as to prevent it from causing a problem later on if he flipped out.

Luckily, he realized this early and could work on it, so he went to training with a mind to take whatever decisions that the head manager made concerning him in stride and not let it rile him up anymore.

This did not mean that he would just let things be though… rather he'd put in so much effort(without over-training, of course), that the manager wouldn't have any choice but to involve him in the line-up eventually.

**6th February 2020**

New changes happened in the training session and Jason was moved to the first team's squad for the internal scrimmage winger-centered training session, but he was on the bench and would not be starting the scrimmage match.

Not that he minded as this meant that he was slowly but surely moving up the ranks in the team despite not having participated in any actual matches.

Training started with the coach being in a little of an annoyed mood and increasing the punishments of the attacking team for not scoring after every five-minute interval.

Jason thought this to be because the team only had a draw in the match against the Academico de Viseu team and his thoughts were correct.

Despite it not having much of a big impact on their cup run as there was still a second leg match to play at the Estadio do Dragao, it was still quite embarrassing for his team to be drawing against a mid-level team in a lower-ranked league, hence why he wanted the players to work harder in training.

The players didn't have a choice and could only go along with the arrangements from their manager.

It was worth noting that Jason managed to get four goals and five assists in the training session today.

This could be attributed to him being on a higher-quality team and playing against a weaker side so it felt almost like easy mode after being up against the first team's players all this while.
