Chapter 1848 Control

Chapter 1848 Control

1848 Control

A change that shook the world colored the skies. Ryu stood laughing in the skies as two Sovereigns clashed beneath him.

He didn't seem to care about their actions at all. They might as well have just been pieces on his chessboard.

His vision was much further, much grander than it had been in the past. It was as though he could feel the path beneath his feet, well and truly, for the first time.

Who cared how difficult the road ahead would be? Who cared how far he still had to go?

All he had to do was put one foot in front of the other, and when the time came… he would soar to the highest limits and even beyond.

BOOM!

Qi soared and fissures lanced their way through the air. Reality seemed as though it was bending and warping, and Ryu could tell with a glance that the Fiend Sovereign had done it on purpose.

A Sovereign was more than capable of controlling their power to a greater extent. In fact, part of becoming a Titled Sky God in the sense of Lord, Sovereign, and God was precisely that they could force the world to stay intact even as they unleashed their full power.

Even Transcendeds were capable of launching attacks that shattered the void, so it wasn't a surprise, per se, that space was bending and twisting like this… at least not for the usual reasons.

Essentially, the fact that this was happening meant that it was all being done on purpose, and the only existence that could be a result of was the Fiend Sovereign. This was being done on purpose for the sake of targeting Ryu. However, it was also precisely because of this that the power of the Sovereign was dissipated greatly, and he ended up suffering in the hands of the Luminara Clan Sovereign.

The reason the forms of control worked up to God Control, a level that could take the world and form it into your hands, forcing it to withstand all of your strength without collapsing, was because power that casually broke reality was also power that dissipated and lacked a solid foundation.

If a Transcended was capable of using God Control, even without their cultivation changing, their power would increase a hundredfold instantly. This was the difference between one's power leaking into the fold of reality and it remaining perfectly intact.

As such, the fact that the Fiend was sent flying like that was well within Ryu's expectations, and he was already prepared for it.

The Luminara Clan Sovereign was taken aback for a moment. It felt a lot like he had just punched empty air, and his body lost its balance for just a second. He panicked for a moment, realizing the intentions of the Fiend instantly and thinking that Ryu might be dead.

However, even through all the volatile qi, Ryu had vanished. His laughter continued to echo in the skies, and it made others think that he was still in the same spot when in reality, it was nothing more than an afterimage.

Ryu appeared in the midst of the Luminara camp, standing as though the battle near the middle had nothing to do with him.

It could be said that this move was just as, if not more shocking than, the fact he had monopolized the Blessings of the Holy World. While this might sound like an exaggeration, it wasn't. That was because who didn't know how much more difficult traveling through space became when there was a high density of qi in the region? And if it was a pair of Sovereigns causing the commotion, how could it be so easily ignored? And yet, Ryu made it look like a complete walk in the park.

As though this wasn't enough, the two encampments were separated by hundreds of kilometers. Although it seemed as though they were face to face, this was only because such distances didn't usually mean much, especially for Sovereigns. However, speed and teleportation were two different matters. To wade through this sort of chaos, and over such a large distance at that… it was simply far too ridiculous.

Of everyone, Galadriel was the most furious. He had lost an exchange to the Fey Sovereign on purpose, and yet he didn't even get what he wanted out of it. Instead, he was feeling his inner organs rattle and some faint injuries appeared in his body.

It wasn't worth it. It wasn't worth it at all. It was too frustrating.

Ryu looked around and shook his head solemnly.

"Do you think they'll be alright? I'm worried for them."

Ryu's words almost made the Luminara Clan members cough up blood. When they realized that he was actually talking about their own Clan members that had been dropped off in the middle of no man's land without having anything to speak for it, how could they not want to erupt with fury?

Unfortunately for them, they didn't dare to touch Ryu, not now.

They seemed to be far less muddle-headed than their own Sovereign. At this point, a great deal of Fate was concentrated on Ryu alone. If they killed him, not only would they have lost a Holy World, but they would also lose all the associated Fate.

In truth, what they were thinking was far too simple.

If they killed Ryu, it wouldn't just be a matter of losing this Fate, but they would also be reversing it. The bad Karma they would receive for doing such a thing wouldn't be able to be explained in just a few words. Right now, Ryu was about as favored by these Heavens as he could possibly be. Killing him would take an already bad situation for the Fey and the rest of the Real Plane, and make it a nightmare.

In the end, they would have no choice but to let cooler heads prevail.

As they were having an internal breakdown, though, Ryu was more interested in contacting his wife again.
