Chapter 107: Summon
Temur didn't have time; it was best to take care of this quickly. His whip snapped faster than Arkin could trace, and it slammed into his neck, driving him into a wall with a grunt before he was jerked forward.
"Now, tell me where the Blood Necromancer is."
Arkin stopped struggling to free himself, he looked up in surprise. "How do you know that name? He's here, isn't he? He's finally here! Oh! Oh!
Oh! To think he'll climb that low just to see me...!"
The rope tightened like a snake. "That's not the question, where is the bastard?"
"And how am I suppose to know? I've not seen the bastard in years. He's not the sort that just wandered around, but to think he'll be here!" Arkin knew the bastard was on the move but to think he's that fast.
All he plannedo hold up here till he got a reply message from him, but that bastard was already moving! Arkin gritted his teeth. 'My dark paladins are not here yet!'
"From your reaction, you know he'll be here or at least after us; you just don't know when. Are you the one that 'sell' Jael to him?" Temur asked.
"Of course! After my dark paladin failed to kill you I can only do one thing since I can't face the three of you by myself. I ally with a more powerful Cult member," he grinned. "Well, technically he's my superior. He wants the Necromancer, and I want the chaos, Devourer."
Temur's eyes darkened. 'So it's this bastard that caused all this. From kidnapping them to getting them almost killed in that zone now they have Litha. All because of this guy. I won't give him an easy death
"You still haven't answered my question. Where is the Blood Necromancer?" He changed his weapon to a long sword, and then he pointed it at his left eye.
"Alright, I'll ask you one thing," Arkin's face suddenly changed from fearful to a gleeful smirk. "How can I get my hands on the Necromancer?" At the same time, he used the artifact on his legs, 'Haste,' to quickly move backward.
Temur let him; after all, he couldn't get away from the room without passing through him. "You want Jael? Then you'll have to go get him yourself but I should probably warn you. He bites, really hard."
Arkin nodded. "Don't I know? You guys got away from me once but not this time. I'll take the Necromancer and be gone before that bastard knows what's happening."
Temur frowned. 'Why is he now acting carefree? Isn't this the man that was cowering just moments ago? What's happening? He's up to something!'
Arkin spread his hands. "What do you even know about the chaos Cult? I'll let you in on something. The chaos god grants us power, we can summon chaos monsters and add their powers to our.
"Originally there must be a rank you must attain in the cult to summon powerful monsters. But if you can pay the price like I did on the floor where you foiled my plan.... as a High priest, I can summon...!"
Temur didn't let him finish; he threw himself forward, his sword blurring downward in a swing that meant to cut off Arkin's shoulder. He didn't miss.
"Yes!" Arkin laughed as the sword pierced his left shoulder and cut it clean off; blood sprayed and splattered, and the hand hit the floor with a thud.
Temur's shocked face was covered in blood as he stared at him. "You are mad."
Arkin laughed louder, and tears began to fall from his eyes; he touched his stump and laughed even harder. His face twists each time.
Temur took a step back, not out of fear but of the strangeness, the wrongness of it. "What are you planning...."
Then Arkin raised his left hand, and his ring glinted; something flew out of his spatial ring and shot off at Temur, who jumped back and slashed in front of him, his sword cut into something soft that reminded him of...flesh!
The body he just cut landed in two places in front of him and he stared in surprise. More bodies began to fall from the ring: men, women, and children of all races. They fell like rain, and soon, the ground was piled high with bodies with Arkin in the middle of it all.
Temur gripped his sword tighter. This reminds him of the cult den back then when he was kidnapped. All the bodies with the slit throats. "What are you planning."
'Whatever he's planning I have to stop him now!' Temur fell into the pile of bodies and began to cut his way forward. He kicked them out of the way without regard.
Arkin began to chant a spell, it came out in a twisted language that clawed terribly at the ears.
"Come out, I summon you with this feast Chaos Aberrants...!" He spoke the true name of the chaos monster but it was lost in the air.
Temur suddenly froze then he jumped back from the bodies, his sword raised. 'What was that? That bloodlust! No, more than that! It's otherworldly aura that I felt
As he watched, a red fog came out of Arkin and fell on the bodies. The air tasted bitter, and then the room darkened; darkness flickered like a candle flame.
Temur held back a gasp as a shudder rocked his body. "What the...." The bodies began to melt together, bones and all, fusing to form a giant puddle.
Arkin moved towards the puddle and then fell inside. Yes, Temur's eyes twitched because it was like the puddle was a hole that he fell in, even his presence varnished.
Just when he thought maybe that's it, the puddle ripped, and a voice came out. "Your poison has reduced the power of my summon." It was Arkin's voice but different.
He came out and Arkin is now a monster. His mouth is wide to his ears and full of jagged fangs. His body is now covered in the hardened form of the puddle.
He raised both hands, and it was tipped with long, sharp claws.
Temur took a step back. 'Things have just become complicated'
