Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 349 First Stage

Seeing how the two visibly relaxed after learning that he was the rank 1, Shane smiled as this was better than having two nervous survivors beside him. After all, that could be very dangerous, especially if they were using firearms.

As they relaxed, the two also continued sharing their battle styles.

This time, Shane learned that Diana's trump card was actually her exploding hammer. It had saved her several times already. She had even killed a Jumper Leader with this as she placed the hammer on its mouth before triggering its explosion.

Though she was also a bit injured in the process, it was still a successful Zombie Leader kill.

"That's dangerous if you're too close to the explosion." Shane said in concern considering the fact that the explosion would include metal shards.

"Yess… So, I normally throw it or stick it inside a Zombie's body." Diana explained.

Shane nodded at this as he imagined how it worked.

"Mhmm… That's a nasty strategy but definitely effective…"

After sharing her trump card, Sandra also did the same. She shared how she carried several anvils and other heavy items in her Inventory. Well, because of the nature of system, she couldn't just store any boulders she wanted. The items she could store in the Inventory must somehow be related to the system.

As for what she would do with these items, the answer was simple. She would drop them from above!

As long as it had enough momentum, she would be able to kill any low-tier Zombies with a drop of her anvil.

It may not be a good item within the dungeons' limited space or forests with Vulture Zombies, she would still be able to use this strategy in many situations.

"That's quite a nice way to kill zombies…" Shane commented. This was the first time he heard of such a method. It was a pity that the items she could store in her Inventory were too limited.

Sandra nodded at this, as she also knew that her method of fighting was quite different.

"Yes… As long as I don't provoke Tyrant Zombies and other Zombies that could throw things at me, I should be fine."

She then recalled something and added.

"Right, my accuracy isn't a hundred percent since Zombies moved around, but after practicing for several weeks, I have a 70% accuracy rate, even with Runner Zombies."

Diana was impressed after hearing this.

"Whoa~ But you can still drop an anvil on a sprinting Runner Zombie… That's amazing…"

"Hehe… I just practice a lot. Though I can't practice too much since I don't have enough Spirit Points." Sandra said with a helpless smile on her face. It was her huge problem. She doesn't have Spirit Enhancement Bottles that could help her increase her limit or many other sources of items with the Spirit Recovery effect.

Shane nodded at this as he decided to consider Sandra for his Clan, depending on her performance. As for Diana, it was already a guarantee that she'd be invited to join the Clan as long as she wanted to join.

Time quickly passed, and the team was finally ready to face the first stage of the Boss Raid event.

Tick… Tick… Tick…

As the countdown reached zero, Shane, Diana, and Sandra felt a sudden pull, and in the blink of an eye, they were transported to a mysterious hall.

The arena they found themselves in was vast, about the size of a football field, with soil covering the ground.

The air was cold here, but not enough to be uncomfortable, and aside from them, the gallery was eerily empty.

"Mhmm…" Shane squinted his eyes as he looked at a specific area where he felt a strange aura locking at him. However, it only lasted for a moment before disappearing.

Anyway, in the center of the arena stood three Light Armored Zombies, their appearance was as expected. They were reminded of their former lives as SWAT officers.

Their bodies were clad in dirty, yet still recognizable, SWAT gear. The armor, though there were signs of damage, still clung to their decaying forms.

As soon as they saw the three, their eyes glowed with a malevolent light, and their bodies immediately turned to face them.

Tick… Tick… Tick…

Soon, Shane heard the clock from the system, probably to time their stage-clearing duration.

Graaahh~

Without warning, the zombies dashed towards them. Without a doubt, their speed and agility were enhanced by some unseen force.

Shane quickly noticed a faint shimmer around their bodies, indicating a forcefield of some sort. They were using something similar to Aura Protection, and he knew that this wouldn't be an easy opponent… for the other Survivors.

Shane remained unfazed as he muttered.

"Let's deal with it as planned," Shane said confidently.

The two nodded and fired their pistols at the enemies… It wasn't to kill them but to assess their strength and to have a contribution to this battle.

Clank… Clank… Clank…

The two fired three bullets each, hitting the defensive force of the three Light Armored Zombies.

That was enough for Shane and Cloud to have a rough idea about their defense.

Then, Shane swiftly took out his Sentinel Mk-IV Automated Turret. As soon as it materialized, the turret's sensors locked onto the approaching zombies. With a mechanical whir, it began to rain down Energy Bullets!

Brrrttttttt~~

With a turret that has a 600 rpm, it was certainly considered slow.

However, what it released wasn't just any bullets. It was energy bullets that could pierce through High-Tier Zombies.

With just 5 seconds of firing, the three Light Armored Zombies were already full of holes. Their heads weren't even there anymore.

"This…"

Diana and Sandra were speechless as they only knew that Shane or Shadow Strider would be fighting the Zombies alone, but they had no idea how he would do so…

The appearance of the Automated Turret that shoots energy bullets was beyond their imagination.

They don't even have rifles at the moment!

On the other hand, Shane was already using a weapon that could even be mounted on spaceships!

'How is this possible?' Diana exclaimed in her mind.
