Chapter 162: Boss Zombie
"Graaahhh!"
The Tyrant Zombies, for all their strength and resilience, were not prepared for the ferocity of the combined assault…
They soon stumbled, and their movements started becoming erratic as the poison from Shinja's blades began to take effect.
Well, as a Poison Expert, Shinja had several poison bottles in his possession.
After he learned how the Zombies fight and what they were capable of, he knew what kind of poison he should use. It was a special poison that made the blood coagulate or turn into solid! Furthermore, it was a top-quality poison, so it was able to take effect very quickly and spread throughout the Zombies' bodies!
The Zombies may not feel the pain, but that would also be the cause of their own doom! As they moved and exerted more pressure on their bodies, the poison would spread faster!
Their roars turned to grunts, and then to whimpers, as the life ebbed from their monstrous forms!
Lyra and Jaxon knew that something was wrong to the Tyrant Zombies but they just attributed it to the strength of the warrior who had assisted them.
With a final, concentrated effort, Shinja, Lyra, and Jaxon brought the Tyrants down.
Thud! Thud!
The creatures collapsed, their bodies hitting the ground that echoed through the clearing. Silence fell, broken only by the heavy breathing of the two Survivors.
Now that they saw the two creatures lying down, the adrenaline started dissipating, and they immediately felt tired and wanted to rest!
"Ahhhhh! Finally!" Lyra exclaimed as she sat down on the ground without any care for her posture.
It was the same for Jaxon, but he remained looking at the tall man who had helped them.
Jaxon couldn't help but observe this mysterious man.
The man had no armor, but it felt like a gladiator's armor would suit him because of his size.
His long black hair was tied in a tight ponytail, revealing a face etched with battle scars. His jaw was chiseled, his cheekbones high, and his lips set in a firm line.
'Tsk…' Jaxon couldn't help but compare himself to the man. Since he only had an average face, he couldn't help but envy such a charismatic man. Nonetheless, he didn't feel insecure since as long as he developed his talent, he would soon become captivating too…
Anyway, Jaxon noticed the man's copper skin and knew that it was probably a lot tougher than the Tyrant Zombies. His clothes, on the other hand, were practical and battle-worn. It was a tunic of dark leather that hugged his torso, its edges were even frayed from sword strikes.
The man was also wearing trousers, which were tucked into knee-high boots. Finally, the two blades, their hilts adorned with mysterious engravings, rested across his back.
Finally, Jaxon admired the necklace that the huge warrior was wearing.
"Ahem… Thank you for saving us, Sir. I'm Jaxon…" Jaxon said.
Lyra jolted at this as she recalled that he hadn't thanked the man yet.
"Right! I'm Lyra… Thanks for saving us!" Lyra said as she also observed the man for a moment.
Shinja turned to Lyra and Jaxon, nodding in respect. "You fought well," he said with his firm voice, making the two feel proud of themselves.
Lyra managed a weary smile. "Thank you. We wouldn't have made it without you."
Jaxon looked toward the cave, where Shane was...
"We owe you our lives," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
"Ahh,,, Do you know Shane? He must be inside the cave right now… Is this your shelter?" Lyra asked.
With this, Shinja explained that Shane ordered him to go save the two as Shane was still busy dealing with the Zombies inside.
Well, this place was indeed not Shane's shelter, and it was still elsewhere.
"Is he going to be fine without you?" Jaxon asked.
"Yes… There's nothing to worry about. Just rest for now while I guard this place.

In the meantime, Shane swiftly gathered the spoils from the defeated Cave Dweller and Screamer Zombies.
He obtained many more Miner's Helmets, and as for the Screamer Zombies, they have constantly provided him with cloaks.
If this continued, he would probably be considering selling some of them through the trade options.
Anyway, with his task complete, he directed his attention to the final passage that had a vast cavern according to others.
Cloud, his A.I. Assistant, had detected another formidable Zombie presence there, encircled by the menacing Crypt Crawler Zombies.
Eldrin, Thalion, Aranion, Faelar, and Cirdan, the reliable elves, also sensed the ominous aura emanating from within.
They could also feel the might of the menacing Zombie, bolstered by its Crypt Crawler guardians.
Meanwhile, Chaloem, the Buddhist Monk, stood in tranquil readiness, his demeanor unshaken by the potential threat.
He simply awaited Shane's command with the calm certainty of a seasoned warrior.
Soon, the cavern loomed before them.
Shane and his group, with their weapons ready, advanced with caution.
This time, Shane wasn't using his revolver and brought out his Electric Shock Blade with him…
The air grew colder as they got nearer to the cavern.
Cloud's sensors picked up more details in the cavern and immediately reported them to Shane. It includes the position of the Crypt Crawler Zombies, which were mostly on the ceiling.
As they entered the cavern, a chilling sight greeted them.
Crypt Crawler Zombies, their limbs grotesquely elongated, clung to the walls and ceiling. Their skin was ashen with stretched skin over their tiny frames.
This was the first time the elves saw such creatures, and they couldn't help but feel disgusted.
They had huge, gaping mouths filled with rows of serrated teeth snapped hungrily.
Their eyes, devoid of pupils, seemed to track every movement with a predator's focus.
"They're more horrifying than the trolls…" Eldrin commented.
However, in the shadowy recesses of the cavern, Shane's eyes settled on the figure that commanded the space with an ominous presence.
'The boss zombie…' Shane thought…
This Zombie stood apart from its grotesque minions, its stature was colossal. It was like a titan among the undead. It was not as big as the Giant Zombie, but it was bigger than the Tyrant Zombies!
