Chapter 569 Time
569 Time
This was the very first time that Sylas had seen a Mount that was graded with the Legendary System rather than the modern one, and it showed.
The strongest Mount he had ever seen only had +50% Speed and Dexterity, while its Limit was mere 308 despite being Level 12.
Of course, the fact the Violet Rose Peacock's Limit was only 500 was a problem. After all, Sylas' own Speed and Dexterity were higher than that now.
But this wasn't as bad as it seemed for two reasons.
First, the Symbiote would fix this issue very soon. Unlike other Mounts that would have a great amount of difficulty leveling up, the Symbiote likely wouldn't.
And second... Speed and Dexterity on the ground versus Speed and Dexterity in the air were two completely different things.
When the Violet Rose Peacock was on the ground, sure, it would be more convenient for Sylas to run on his own unless he was trying to conserve stamina or rest.
But if the Violet Rose Peacock was in the air...?
There would be no comparison at all.
It had taken Sylas four hours to run here. Even at a slower pace, if the peacock flew the entire time, Sylas estimated it probably wouldn't even take half the time.
Unlike him, the peacock wouldn't have to avoid trees and decide whether to run up or around mountains.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
This was why he had wanted a flying Mount so badly.
And yet this was still just the tip of the iceberg.
Right now, the Violet Rose Peacock was just a Mount, and it only scaled with Speed and Dexterity as a result. But it had a Talent, something that only Combat Mounts- and rare ones at that-should be capable of having.
This meant that there was a strong possibility that given time and leveling up, the Symbiote might be able to break free of the mold the peacock it was possessing had forced it into, becoming a true Combat Mount.
For now, Sylas could already feel that using it in battle wouldn't be allowed by the system. But who was to say that that would still be true at Level 10? What about Level 20? 30?
Only time would tell.
Sylas took a step onto the peacock's lowered head, feeling the connection between the two of them solidifying as it rose up proudly once again.
Against Sylas, it could only lower itself because the Brand Sylas had formed was simply too powerful for it to even begin to buck again.
But against the rest of the world, its arrogance seemed to blossom.
With a wave of his hand, Sylas retrieved the Bone-Tailed Lizard and the Basilisk King. "Let's go."
The Violet Rose Peacock spread its wings and flapped downward once hard.
Soil kicked up and a powerful downward force took shape as they shot into the air and spiraled past trees.
Sylas took a breath and closed his eyes as they soared into the air, feeling the wind kicking up against him. This feeling of power was truly intoxicating.
**WHOOOOSH!**
The peacock streaked into the distance, leaving a line of violet, black, and icy blue in its wake.
The journey back to the System City didn't even take a single hour. It cut the time down by an entire fourth.
When the majestic peacock appeared above the city grounds, it undoubtedly brought many eyes along with it. However, who would dare to stop the Warlord from doing as he wished?
When Sylas was seen on the creature's back, no one said a single thing.
The peacock touched down into the City Lord mansion's courtyard, right in front of Nosphaleen, who had been waiting.
The Clypsian restrained her curiosity and shock. This was also the first time she had seen such a powerful Mount, but she was getting a bit tired of looking like a fool in front of Sylas. Subconsciously, she had begun to try to find ways to look better in front of him and please him.
"Did something happen while I was away?" Sylas asked.
Nosphaleen usually wouldn't come here without reason, so he made his own assumptions.
She had been about to answer when Sylas waved a hand. The Violet Rose Peacock actually twisted into a feathered vine, shrinking down and wrapping around Sylas' exposed arm.
Nosphaleen's mouth remained partially open, speechless about what she was seeing.
One of the most inconvenient things about Mounts was having to buy powerful enough storage treasures to keep them in. For one as powerful as Sylas, there enough storage treasures to keep them in. For one as powerful as Sylas, there probably didn't yet exist a powerful enough beast pouch to hold it in on the entirety of
Earth.
And yet...
Nosphaleen shook her head, refocusing herself.
"I've definitely confirmed that Tasia is part Clypsian."
"Oh?" Sylas nodded. He had pretty much already accepted as much.
Luckily, Nosphaleen had gotten used to Sylas enough to know that this would be the response. So she had come with much more.
"As we speculated, she has a very unique mutation that makes her very resistant to my charms and very adept at impressing her own onto people. Considering how poor her Charisma stat is right now, the fact she can influence anyone at all is a miracle."
Sylas nodded again. He had thought of this as well. Though he much more easily shrugged off Tasia's charm compared to Nosphaleen's, just how high was Nosphaleen's Charisma?
It was well into the thousands, and Tasia's was just 10. There was a shocking gap. The fact he could feel Tasia's charm and Will at all spoke for itself.
"But finding her a Profession is much harder. I know you said that you would handle it, but I decided to do some poking around anyway, just in case."
Sylas didn't mind it. It wasn't as though she had much else to do anyway. She certainly wasn't ignoring other tasks he had given her.
"Just from what my elders have told me, the most powerful Professions come from self-triggering them or being a product of a System Reward or Inheritance. On a Summoned world, there's no better time to claim a Profession.
"Usually, people have an array of Professions that are best suited to them. If you can connect with them, the system will establish a bridge for you and allow you to nurture
it.
"Tasia needs an opportunity to sense those Professions. She could use a Teacher Profession to help her, but that will be somewhat less effective until it's a truly
high-grade Teacher Profession.
"But because she's part Clypsian, I think that I can help her with my Mesmeryx Totem. It's just that... I can't succeed unless I'm in the ocean."
"Mm..." Sylas nodded. "In that case, let's slate this matter for now. We're quite far away from any oceans. Instead, I think it's about time we dealt with those powers." Nosphaleen's gaze flickered. It seemed that Sylas was growing tired of waiting for them to make the first move. Since they had allowed him enough time to both gain a Mount and a Bronze Class, then he might as well repay the favor.
He would crush them here and now and wait for the response of the Africor Continent
government.
