Chapter 473: Statue

Chapter 473: Statue

"W-What did you do?!" Duke Ismael asked with a startled face.

He noticed that his memories appeared hazy like some fog at that moment and grew pale.

'No! I can't die like this. I need to avenge my family!' A firm resolution appeared in his eyes.

As he tried to recall what happened earlier, those hazy memories started to appear like brand new ones in the form of images. At the same time, the star marks on the different parts of his body also disappeared.

An irreplaceable joy filled with anger, sadness, and grief appeared on his face.

He then showed a twisted expression on his face and glared at Cardinal Smith in rage.

"I'll kill you-!"

But before he could even finish his words, Cardinal Smith finally ended his chanting and muttered.

"Purgation of the corrupted Soul!"

A second later, Duke Ismael's whole body erupted in sunshine flame and then started burning fiercely!

Although Duke screamed in pain and anger and even struggled with all his might, the sunshine flame continued to burn his body and cleansed his soul.

Before long, Duke Ismael's body turned into pure light energy and soon disappeared from Charles's sight.

'What a strange way to kill someone.' Charles muttered under his breath and shifted his attention towards the Royal Palace.

"You've one more job to do later. Till then, wait there for a while." Saying so, he arrived beside Cardinal Smith and placed his hand on his shoulder.

Cardinal felt that the whole surroundings started to distort the next instant and soon found himself standing in the middle of the dense woods.

"Pocket Dimension again? Why did he send me here?" He looked around in confusion and soon sighed heavily.

In the meantime, Charles cast [Flame Teleportation] spell on himself, enveloped in a crimson flame, and disappeared from the dark sky.

The next second, he reappeared in the middle of the throne hall and startled the nobles.

But soon, most of the nobles recognized his face and instantly greeted him.

"Your Highness!"

In the meantime, Irzoch also noticed his arrival, stood up from the golden throne, and then stepped down from the throne canopy.

"I have done my job, my friend." She mimicked Cardinal Smith's voice perfectly and spoke in a male voice. While speaking, she arrived in front of him, pointed her finger at the headless body of Prince Quinn, and asked.

"What should we do with the body?"

Charles thought of something and soon spoke while waving his head.

"Even though he had committed multiple crimes, he was still a member of Aetas Royal Family. We've to give a proper burial for the dead ones." Saying so, he turned his gaze towards the surrounding nobles and ordered.

"You guys can go back and tell everyone what happened here. Also, inform the masses that the coronation ceremony will be held in a month."

Just as he finished his speaking, the whole throne hall erupted in noise.

Some murmured in agreement, some whispered enthusiastically, and some even pledged their allegiance boldly to Charles.

"Y-Yes, Your Highness!" "We will spread the words to different parts of the kingdom!" "Long live Prince Julius!" "Garia Household will always be on Prince Julius's side."

While shouting, they moved towards the entrance gate and soon left the throne hall. Once the nobles disappeared from Charles's sight, he shifted his attention towards Irzoch and ordered.

"You can return to your original human form. There is no need for you to transform into Duke Michael from now on."

Meanwhile, Irzoch widened her eyes and nodded her head. Simultaneously, she deactivated her [Skin-change] bloodline spell and returned to her human form.

Her middle-aged figure changed and soon transformed into a completely new one. Her skin tone became shiny, her silvery hair became brown, and her eyes turned red.

In her original human form, she had a round face, Nubian nose and appeared to be around 25 years old.

Once Irzoch returned to her human form, she smiled at Charles with a wide-eyed look and bowed her head.

In the meantime, Charles stepped on the dais and soon arrived in front of the golden throne. Then, he turned around, sat on the throne, and then ordered.

"Tell me what happened after you entered the throne hall."

Although Irzoch got confused by his words, she didn't put too much thought into it and nodded.

But as she was about to explain everything in detail, she suddenly forgot what to say!

At that moment, a ball of purple fire appeared inside her Inner World and started erasing her earlier memories.

A few seconds later, Charles finally erased most of her previous assassination incident memories, erased the purple flame from her Inner World, and then looked at Irzoch.

At that moment, she also looked back at Charles and opened her mouth to say something but couldn't remember what had happened earlier.

The last thing she remembered was how she sneaked into Royal Palace and killed the two gatekeepers before entering the throne hall.

"Don't put too much thought into it." Charles waved his hand as he noticed her confusion and then turned his attention towards the head of the Crown Prince.

He then glanced at the surrounding area and soon furrowed his brows.

"Where is the silver crown?"

Upon hearing those words, Irzoch looked around in a hurry and became puzzled.

"It should be around here somewhere near the right side wall, My Lord. Maybe one of the nobles stole it? It shouldn't be." She clearly remembered that the silver crown rolled towards the nearby wall and frowned.

"Leave it. It's not an important thing anyway." Charles muttered slowly and was about to turn his attention towards his Inner World but stopped. At that moment, he perceived a strange familiar power coming from the right side wall and raised his eyebrow in surprise.

"Dream power? No, it seems more like an upgraded version of the dream power. Interesting," He straightened his back and stood up from the throne before disappearing.

A moment later, he reappeared next to the right side wall, touched the tiled floor with his right hand, and tried to sense the dream power.

A moment later, he noticed a strange connection in that area towards the Dream World!

He was quite familiar with this type of connection!

'Strange…' Charles didn't hesitate for a moment before he sat on the floor in a cross-legged position and closed his eyes.

"Protect me for a while." He ordered Irzoch in a cold tone and turned into his consciousness form.

He disappeared from the throne hall a second later, passed through the strange barrier, and soon opened his eyes in the similar throne hall.

But instead of the golden throne, what appeared in the throne canopy was a 2-meter tall rocky statue of a human. Although the statue was damaged in many areas, it wasn't beyond recognizable.

Charles instantly recognized the person in the statue and narrowed his eyes.

'My statue again?' He also noticed that a silver crown was placed next to his statue's feet and got more confused.
