Chapter 91 A Week Off [5]
91 A Week Off [5]
"The Foundation Festival, huh?"
Putting on her black framed glasses, Belle squinted her eyes and carefully scanned the documents in front of her.
Inside the Student Council office, documents were strewn on the table.
The only ones who had a week off were the first years. On the other hand, the second years still had to attend.
Currently, she was thoroughly checking the students' suggestions for the upcoming Astrea Foundation Festival, which would be held on September 5.
A box was placed, just outside the Student Council office.
In the box, students can place their suggestions on what kind booths would be possible.
At the moment, the suggestion box was still up. But due to Belle's curiosity, she wanted to see what the students' have come up with.
Since the first years still had a week off, the suggestions would come from the second to fifth year students.
Squinting her eyes, Belle read the contents of the small papers.
—Maid cafe.
—Dwarf tavern.
The ideas were…
Interesting.
—Horror house.
—Science Showroom.
—Red light district.
Crunch.
She immediately crumpled the paper.
What sort of…
—Elf themed brothelhouse.
Crunch.
"..."
Belle flushed bright red after reading the inappropriate suggestions.
"The hell is wrong with these students?"
Clearly, she was just wasting her time.
There were barely any serious suggestions.
In the first place, the suggestion box wasn't her idea.
It was proposed by another member of the council, her secretary.
The council currently only had three members; The President, The Vice President, and the Secretary.
And clearly, three people weren't enough to sufficiently manage council duties.
"Haaa…"
Letting out a heavy sigh, Belle rubbed her eyes.
She was overworked.
"What's wrong, Belle?"
A voice suddenly reached her from the side. Seated on the couch, long dark onyx hair cascaded down her shoulders. Her yellow eyes were fixed on similar documents that Belle also had on her table.
"...We need more members, Charlotte."
Charlotte Flynn, her Secretary, and a fellow second year. Also the second strongest second year student, only second after Belle.
"Right… I thought our work would be halved if we put up the suggestion box, but…"
Charlotte turned to look at the small papers strewn all over Belle's table.
"...Looks like it was a waste of time."
"Recruitment won't be open until the second semester anyway."
Another voice chimed in, seated in front of Charlotte.
A man with an athletic build. With light blue hair, blue eyes, and glasses to complete the look.
Adrien Frost, currently a third year, and the Vice President. He was the previous council President, and decided to join for the council for another year further increase his resumè.
"We have yet to establish a disciplinary committee. We need one before the festival happens."
"...Right."
Belle nodded as Adrien continued to scan the documents.
Looking at Belle, an idea struck him. Thus he opened his mouth and suggested.
"For the disciplinary committee, I have a friend in mind, Amelia Constantine."
At the mention of 'Amelia', Belle's eyes lit up.
"I had the same thoughts. Could you send her the proposal to head the committee?"
Belle's curiosity was piqued. But as soon as the words left Adrien's mouth, Belle's face crunched up.
"...Your younger Brother, Brandon Locke."
"..."
"President?"
"Rejected."
A flat out refusal.
"Unless my Brother volunteers, none of you are allowed to force him into any responsibilities."
Adrien stood up as he approached Belle. Pursing his lips, he went on to elaborate.
"President, we may not know what happened in Everglade, but it shouldn't have been that bad, right?"
All of a sudden, Belle's eyes started glowing a bright blue glow, and an immense pressure bore down on Adrien.
Looking at Adrien, Belle knitted her brows.
"My Brother may be strong. But mentally, he is weak. Ever since coming back from Everglade, I have never seen him so depressed."
She stood up and stared at Adrien, her face started darkening all of a sudden, and the atmosphere gradually became heavier.
"So please don't make such insensitive comments."
Though the pressure was gradually getting heavier and heavier, Adrien remained unfazed.
He was, after all, the top ranking student among the third years. Belle knew Adrien was way stronger than her, but she was no pushover. She was also the top ranking student among the second years.
It was nothing but a show of strength.
"Calm down you two."
Startled, Charlotte's anxious voice rang in the air.
She as well, was unfazed by all the magic pressure.
Adrien was a man of reason. Thus he backed down and stifled a laugh.
"Understood, President. I will not pursue the matter. But that is only under the conditions of forcing him. I will send out a proposal in the form of a document."
Belle's eyes widened for a while, trying to digest his words. But eventually, she resigned.
"Alright, granted."
Sitting back down, she looked at Adrien.
"But why are you so bent on my Brother joining the committee?"
"Just curious. As another fellow was granted the title of the strongest, I just want to see how capable he is."
Turning around, Adrian returned to the couch and sat back down.
"What was he again? A Tri-Elemental Mage?"
"..."
Belle twitched all of a sudden.
"Y-yes." n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ignoring her weird gesture, Adrien cleared his throat.
"Kuhum… Also, I'd like to ask for your permission, President…"
Looking at Belle, his expressions became serious.
"I'd like to test him first."
"Absolutely n–"
"That's fine."
All heads flicked to trace the source of the voice.
Standing by the door, a familiar figure with dark purple hair, and azure eyes grabbed their attention.
"Miss Evelyn?"
Belle was startled. But immediately composed herself.
Evelyn was recently appointed as the student council head. Her sudden appearance in the office wasn't out of place at all.
"Ah, Miss Evelyn, I heard he's your assistant. Can you vouch for his capabilities?"
"He's capable enough. More than average for a first year."
As her curiosity as piqued, Belle decided to ask.
"Then what if he was a second year?"
Looking at Belle, Evelyn flatly replied.
"He's weaker than you, Belle. But he could easily make it into the top 15s"
"Wew."
Adrien whistled with a raised brow.
"If Miss Evelyn is the one saying it, then it must be true."
Standing up, Adrien approached Belle.
18:45
"President, grant me permission."
Seeing the serious look in his eye, Belle deeply sighed.
"H-haaa… Alright, but it will be held in the Virtual Simulation."
"Of course."
"But as soon as I approve this…"
Belle looked up with a serious expression, her eyes started glowing blue yet again.
"...You'll do all of my work for the entire month."
"..."
Speechless, Adrien's mouth formed an 'o' shape.
But as he composed himself, he spoke up.
"...That's absurd. There's no benefits for me here."
"So? Do you still want to proceed?"
"...Alright, understood."
"Pfft…"
From the side, Charlotte chuckled.
Belle…
She was scary.
Everyone present in the room would agree.
And for a younger brother who held the same position as her as the strongest of their respective years…
Just what kind of monster was he?
Adrien's thoughts were soon broken as his phone started ringing.
Retrieving it, a familiar name flashed on his screen. A name that sent chills down his spine.
[Lucian Frost]
