Chapter 98: Battling 5 Hours Early
Chapter 98: Battling 5 Hours Early
Harvard finally made it back to Central City and saw the prompt he hated to see.
[1 more day until the Monsoon Kraken takes over Central Continent and builds a palace out of the blood of his enemies!]
It had rained so much that people were taking boats around Central City and had set up verandas from the second floors of most businesses. It was like being in a beautiful oceanside town except the ocean was about to take over the town and kill everyone's hopes and dreams.
[Infamy + 100]
'Damn it. Today I came prepared,' Harvard looked behind him at the 50 healers he hired and started walking to the battlefield. He had only one mission today, and that was to make the battlefield have less water in it, so that when his water army arrived they wouldn't be killed by the better swimming water army.
There were roughly 50 girls behind him in white dresses that were getting soaked in the rain, but they seemed to not be bothered by it. Harvard smiled and walked up to where May Tape and Grinning sword were building their next contraptions.
On the other side of the battlefield, there were contraptions 10 times larger, but they were still doing pretty well. Grinning Sword had mastered the art of using the cheapest materials to build weapons where the Monsoon Kraken's side weapons were definitely less affordable.
'The Great Underwater Bandit King will be here with her army in 5 hours. That means in 5 hours I got to decrease the water level enough that whomever she brings can at least not be attacked underwater by sharks. Will my body be able to handle it?'
Harvard's feet were roughly under two feet of water, so it was extremely hard to trudge an inch forward. A Few NPCs on boats took turns throwing tomatoes at him, but he ignored them while he took a deep breath. Turning back at the girls in white dresses getting dressed, most of them with brunette hair and beautiful bodies, but others with blonde hair, or pink hair, or even green hair, he smiled.
"I'm going to begin evaporating now. Which one of you healing touch healers from the healing touch guild are over level 50?"
"Only two of us! The rest over level 30. We-we never got a chance to get all of them Class 2 Quests." The level 50 healer named Granny said, who seemed to be young and beautiful. "Why? What is it that you request? You are paying us 1,000,000 Lograms an hour after all."
"I-I need you to heal me as fast as possible," Harvard nodded his head. "I did some calculations and the rain is falling down and covering this battlefield at over 10,000 volumetric tons a minute. That means I need to evaporate 11,000 tons a minute in order to clear the battlefield in 3 hours. The only way I can do that is if I put my life on the line by evaporating once every 5 minutes. I need you girls to heal me instantly. You two, level 50 girls, will take charge, okay? I-I know you're soaked, and you can almost see your undergarments underneath your clothes, but you can't get distracted! You must heal me fast!"
"We-we can't imagine you'll need all 50 of us," Granny laughed, and shook her beautiful black hair while she looked up at the rain and the dark clouds above. "Anyways, let's start. If I get any wetter, I'm going to have to change my clothes."
"Alright, I'm ready," Harvard turned around and was glad he requested the girls wore all white clothes. After all, it was much easier to tell who was healers if they all wore white, and it was raining so that was an added bonus. "Here I go! Evaporate!"
###
A large booth was settup outside the battlefield where Harvard was trying his hardest to drain all the water.
People were placing bets on many things.
The odds of the Monsoon Kraken winning the battle were 290 to 1.
The odds of Harvard emptying the entire battlefield of water before the battle started and the water army arrived was 5 to 1.
The odds of Harvard getting more kills than Great Styles was 100 to 1.
The top bidder on that was Great Styles own wife, so you can imagine how mad he was, but that wasn't the point! People were placing bids on everything! Even on things like if Candy Kid would end up rejoining the side of the Ghost Adventurers fighting for good over the Monsoon Kraken! The odds for that were actually only 1.5 to 1!
"Evaporate! Evaporate! Evaporate! Evaporate!"
Bang! Bang!
Harvard's Vitality bar dropped so fast there was a large wager too that he was going to actually die. The healers, many of whom thought it was ridiculous Harvard would need 50 healers to keep him fully alive, were dropping one after the other.
Only 10 healers remained as the level 30 girls were carted off and placed in the tents for the injured on the side of the battlefield! It was nuts! How was this man able to use such a powerful skill consecutively! It felt like he was literally fighting the weather! The cloud dissipated and reappeared over and over again as he kept reactivating the skill!
"Evaporate! Evaporate!"
Harvard started to wobble as the battlefield's water drained down to less than 5 inches as opposed to the 10 inches when he started. "Evaporate! Evaporate!"
"My-my clothes are almost dry! You're doing awesome Harvard," May Tape smiled and looked down at her dry tools, and dry black pants. "I-I can't believe it! You're amazing! I'm going to reward you with a huge kiss tonight if we win the battle! You might cry it will be so magical."
"That's so hot!" Harvard used Evaporate again and felt his body beginning to overheat. "I-I can't take it too much longer! AHHHH! Push through Harvard! Push through just like in teamwork training! If you can train with four girls, you can evaporate a lot of water!"
Boom!
Harvard's determination caused a lot of the Ghost Adventurers that were depressed and only showing up to the battlefield to watch to begin to think about fighting in it. A few people left the stands and drew out their weapons. So what if they might die! This was their city! They weren't going to let an evil Monsoon Kraken take it over!
[The Monsoon Kraken has decided to start the battle early. He will arrive in 5 hours to start the battle in Central Continent!]
