Chapter 180: Prison Chapter (Main line) 69: Why It’s Only Wednesday
Chapter 180
One person in the team had the special privilege of obtaining living supplies. Shen Yue asked him for a piece of paper and a pen.
Half an hour later, Shen Yue gathered the team together to announce to them the cumulative score system, detailing how people of different roles could contribute to the team in order to obtain points.
From the big picture to the minute details, no aspect was overlooked.
Even the most discerning people in the team had to admit this scoring system was theoretically the most fair.
It was hard to imagine this was something Shen Yue had written in just half an hour.
With no objections from anyone, Shen Yue's team decided on the rules for distributing werewolf ownership rights based on total cumulative points, and temporary peace was achieved.
Even if this peace was false, Shen Yue's purpose was only to maintain order for a period of time.
The werewolf game lasted a total of three days. Shen Yue used the first day to screen and obtain pieces she could utilize, and the second day was for the hunt.
The current werewolf game area was very large with dispersed numbers of people, and with a clumsy, overweight target of a 20-plus person team, the method Shen Yue adopted was to wait in ambush.
From the moment she fired that flaming arrow on the 14th, her plan to lie in ambush had already begun.
She didn't extinguish that fiery arrow, but placed it in a suitable location, just waiting for the right time for that spark to ignite the entire forest zone, driving the people inside to run towards the central clearing.
Which was where Shen Yue and the others were currently camped.
The first werewolf they had captured now was just the beginning.
Sure enough, before long, just as Shen Yue had expected, people trickled in succession, most were lone wolves, a few formed small teams, but compared to a 20-plus person team they were lacking.
Restricted by the points system, these captured people were not killed, but were instead brought in front of Shen Yue for her to discern if they were werewolves or not.
Werewolves to one side, civilians to the other. Amongst the civilians, those with and without special privileges were also treated differently.
No one doubted Shen Yue’s judgement on the authenticity of the werewolves. Firstly, they weren’t yet at the stage of considering such matters; secondly, human greed determined that everyone present would not be satisfied with distribution based merely on points.
So Shen Yue's answers on who the werewolves were didn't actually matter.
The moment this 20-odd person team disintegrated, all the rules became useless. How to maximize benefits amidst the chaos was what each person needed most to consider.
Of course, there were people in the team who wanted to stir up trouble, just as there were people who simply wanted to stay alive. For these people, apart from trusting Shen Yue, they were also filled with adoration for her.
They deeply believed Shen Yue's chosen werewolf identities. After some investigation and analysis, they even discovered similarities between the werewolves.
“Look, the werewolves seem to all have this kind of pattern on them.”
There were 3 captured werewolves now in total. When lined up together, their distinctive traits became very obvious.
All the werewolves possessed powerful attacking abilities, and on their bodies they also had identical markings. Those markings appeared to represent the werewolves’ identities.
This discovery was clearly grounded. The team clamored again, demanding everyone reveal themselves to mutually inspect identities.
Seeing the team that had just been re-organized descend into chaos again, Mo Aman couldn't help but look towards Shen Yue, only to discover she was very calm without the slightest panic. She even looked at these people with the eyes of an adult watching children make trouble.
Noticing Mo Aman's gaze, Shen Yue turned her head and softly asked, “What’s the matter, Aman?”
Caught off guard by Shen Yue calling her name, Mo Aman only felt her heart stop for a second. She involuntarily spoke the truth, “Isn’t a 20-odd person team too much? Even if you reduce the numbers, with your capabilities you can still win.”
Shen Yue smiled at Mo Aman, seeming quite sincere, “Thank you for your concern, but a mere 20-odd people is still very easy to manage.”
After speaking, Shen Yue walked right into the noisy crowd, addressing the noisiest man, “Amongst everyone here, there are only 3 werewolves. No matter how you probe or argue otherwise, there is only this one answer: my answer.”
Shen Yue’s voice wasn’t loud at all, yet for some reason when she spoke everyone consciously quieted down.
“Although it’s a waste of time, you can still verify amongst yourselves. But while verifying you must ensure the team remains vigilant. Go in groups of 5, taking turns to find your meaningless answers.”
“Men and women separate. Zuo Yikongjie, you’re in charge of that group of men.” Shen Yue delegated the task, and Zuo Yikongjie didn’t refuse either, directly acknowledging before organizing the team.
As long as he wasn’t unwell, Zuo Yikongjie’s personal abilities were unquestionable. Under his organization, the male prisoners quickly split into groups of 5 to start examining each other’s bodies.
Shen Yue looked towards the females’ side, asking “Do you want to check as well?”
A doll-faced girl spoke up, “Boss lady, I believe you, but I still wanna take a look at your body~”
Without hesitation Shen Yue nodded in agreement.
Soon, they were all laid bare to behold, and no werewolf markings were found on any of them.
“See, the boss lady said there were no werewolves so there really aren’t any werewolves! But boss lady, what’s with the scar on your arm? Looks like a recent injury from yesterday morning.” The doll-faced girl stared at the wound on Shen Yue’s arm, seeming to have ideas and refused to let up.
Before Shen Yue could reply, Mo Aman had already spoken, “That was a wound sustained while saving me. Say one more word and I’ll cut your tongue out.”
The doll-faced girl retreated a step. “Oh my, big sister is still so fierce. I won’t play with you anymore.”
Mo Aman frowned as she watched the doll-faced girl leave. She couldn’t help asking, “Boss lady, you’re not mad?”
Shen Yue shook her head. “It’s not yet time to get mad. Meaningless anger will only muddle the brain.”
Mo Aman’s eyes lit up. “As expected of the boss lady!”
Shen Yue slowly got dressed, even allowing Mo Aman to retie her hair.
Soon, the male side also finished their confirmations, not one person had markings resembling a werewolf.
This proved one thing: Shen Yue’s judgement was 100 percent accurate.
Although nothing overt was said after reaching this conclusion, the earlier bedlam had nevertheless been quelled without notice. Voices questioning Shen Yue also ceased to appear.
Afterwards, escapees from the forest zone kept showing up. Under Shen Yue’s arrangements, as long as those people entered a certain perimeter they would inevitably be captured.
After observing for a period, once Shen Yue determined there would temporarily be no issues, she turned and stealthily headed towards the forest alone.
The team members were busy hunting and didn’t notice Shen Yue’s disappearance.
......
Shen Yue walked straight towards a particular spot, seemingly already knowing where she ought to go without the slightest hesitation.
Half an hour later, braving the flames that now raged fiercely around, Shen Yue found Danni La and her siblings inside a burrow.
Since getting tossed into this game, the few of them had hidden, as per Shen Yue’s instructions, inside the nearest concealed burrow they could find.
Danni La didn’t know why Shen Yue would know there was a burrow here, nor why her siblings would coincidentally be gathered around her when she opened her eyes, but she still hid herself at the fastest speed possible.
There was no food or water inside the burrow, but since there was no physical exertion, going hungry for two days was still bearable.
Yet each time someone approached, Danni La still couldn’t help feeling afraid. Now, with the fires spreading, she knew that if she didn't escape soon there would only be death. But escaping was akin to betraying Shen Yue.
Danni La had no choice. She could only stop her increasingly agitated younger siblings, still curled up inside the burrow feeling the oxygen gradually diminish.
Her mind grew increasingly muddled, her senses gradually numbing. She didn’t know how much time had passed before she finally heard the voice she desperately yearned for in her dreams.
"Danni La, I'm here to pick you up."
