Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2228 Offer

Chapter 2228  Offer

The grand magus captives were not held in Terra City. Instead, being in a soul form, Emery was able to keep the man inside his domain prison. However, despite his soul being filled with space energy, it was still identified as foreign energy to him, and Emery needed to keep him in a special containment room, just as he had done with Mo Yan. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

Grand Magus Rhyze, being a renowned figure with unique spatial powers, was very arrogant. His contempt was palpable as he sneered, "I was careless… to think a young boy like you would defeat me… Huh, just kill me already."

Emery remained calm, his voice steady. "Really? … Don't you not want to live?"

The grand magus fell silent for a moment, before saying "What do you want?"

"Give me access to your aperture," Emery said, his eyes never leaving Rhyze.

The man laughed derisively. "What would a little magus like you know about the Grand Magus domain? Much less a spatial domain!"

Emery's expression didn't change as he said.

"You don't need to worry about that… my offer is simple.. the key to your aperture for your life."

The fact of the situation was that Emery dared not to devour Rhyze's soul. The grand magus's high proficiency in space law would be beneficial, but in Emery's current condition, absorbing darkness energy could do more harm than good. On the other hand, Rhyze was one of the Nephilim experts; returning his soul would add weight to their upcoming negotiations.

Taking his aperture, on the other hand, could give Emery a fortune that justified the risk. The spatial domain was a special grand magus domain belonging to space law experts. Emery imagined a vast continent of its own, a space filled with cosmic energy, ten times the size of his own domain, probably similar to what Zenonia had.

"Never!… Just kill me already," the grand magus declared defiantly.

The grand magus's aperture represented the culmination of his centuries of cultivation. Taking it would revert him back to the magus level, a fate many grand magus considered worse than death. Rhyze likely believed that Emery wouldn't dare kill him, or he was holding out hope that his master would come for him.

Unfortunatly, despite not being a spirit master, Rhyze, as a two-cosmos grand magus, had a formidable two-pagoda-level mental defense. Emery realized it would take a long time to break the man's will—time he did not have.

Emery couldn't simply break the aperture like before; he had learned his lesson with Mo Yan. As soon as he took the aperture out of the corpse, he would only have a week or two to forcefully open it. Otherwise, it would destroy itself. This time, Emery dared not forcefully open the aperture using his devour technique either. Unless he was sure he could break it open, Emery might as well keep it inside the body for a while.

With no other alternatives at hand, Emery decided to resort to torture.

"Killgragah... you can do the honors," he said.

<Huh... I am not your pet> Killgragah replied.

Emery heaved a sigh and politely said, "I mean... Great One, will you please do this for me?"

<...Alright>

Emery left the grand magus's spirit to face Killgragah's flames, hoping the intense pain would make Rhyze reconsider his defiance. He then accessed the Khaos gate to return to Earth's Moon base. The cold, barren landscape of the Moon was a stark contrast to the bustling activities within the base. Emery briefed the Magus twins about the situation, emphasizing the need to heighten their guards. Their faces showed concern but also determination as they acknowledged his instructions.

Emery descended to Earth's surface. His destination was one of the remote mountains in East Asia, a place known for its tranquility and natural beauty. The journey took him over vast forests and winding rivers until he reached a serene valley surrounded by a dense bamboo forest.

Nestled in this peaceful valley was a simple wooden hut. The air was fresh, filled with the scent of bamboo and wildflowers, and the gentle sounds of nature provided a calming backdrop. Emery approached the hut, where an old man sat by the lake, fishing. Realizing Emery's arrival, the old man turned with a welcoming smile. "Emery, what brings you here today?" he asked.

The old man was none other than Fuxi, the Eastern sage. Emery had come to seek his advice on the situation and to reveal the information he had received from Ishtar.

As they talked, Naya, Fuxi's adopted daughter, moved gracefully around the hut, preparing a meal for them.

Emery was trying to piece together the puzzle, and the existence of the Sky Lord of the Astiel Nephilim emerged as a crucial element. Strangely, even Fuxi, despite his vast knowledge and centuries of experience, didn't know much about this figure. Fuxi had spent most of his time in seclusion, yet he had lived on Earth for about 300 years, between 1200 BCE and 900 BCE, until he left due to his failure with his students.

This brought into question Ishtar's claim that the Sky Lord had visited Earth multiple times. If this were indeed true, then there must be a significant secret he was trying to hide. Emery couldn't help but think about the mysterious Abyss Gate hidden deep underground. With no definite answers, Emery could only heave a deep sigh.

The surroundings were serene as they sat by the lake, with the gentle rustling of bamboo leaves and the occasional splash of a fish breaking the water's surface. Emery's thoughts were heavy, but the tranquil environment provided a sense of clarity. "Senior, you haven't told me what happened with my ancestor, the Eastern Beast. How did he die?" Emery asked, breaking the silence with a question that had long weighed on his mind.

Fuxi revealed a truth he had kept for a long time. It was around 1700 BCE, and he was not on Earth when it happened, but the report was clear: Myrddin, the Western Beast, was driven into madness and ultimately executed by the gods, who were, at that time, the Kronos.

Despite not knowing the man personally, this revelation struck a deep chord within Emery.

Seeking more answers, Emery decided his next destination would be Gaia. As he prepared to leave, Fuxi offered to fly to Terra City to support him, but Emery declined. Fuxi's presence on Earth provided Emery with a sense of peace, knowing that the planet was protected. Emery couldn't afford to leave Earth unguarded.

Emery then flew across the continent back to Britannia, heading towards the Fey village to Gaia and hoping to find answer.
