Chapter 3788 Towards Their Destination
Chapter 3788 Towards Their Destination
Zenova Artoria and Evelynn blinked.
Twenty-five days? Why don't they just head by themselves instead?
"That's so slow." Zenova Artoria clicked her tongue and grumbled as though she was reluctant, "Prepare a Mid Stage Sovereign Grade Transport Ship for us."
"As you request, but that's going to cost you more." The blue-robed man replied.
"…"
Evelynn saw the two of them go back and forth before they finally agreed to pay five hundred thousand High-Level Transcendent Crystals for another half-day journey to the Highnode Town. It cost so much because they were the only two passengers who were traveling alone that far.
This would undoubtedly leave a trace if someone were to come here and investigate this man.
However, it didn't matter as they hadn't revealed their identity, not to mention they didn't leave any trace in space.
Evelynn knew unless someone could use Spacetime Laws to rewind time and sense the annihilative aura Zenova Artoria used at that particular area with pinpoint accuracy, they could forget about following them, much less catching them.
She had seen space and was fully in awe over its expanse and colorful nebulae covering the peripheral of her vision. If she wasn't on a journey to reunite with her family, she would bask in its silent yet otherworldly atmosphere while holding Davis's hand.
"Ah, now we have to hunt and fill our pockets again~"
Zenova Artoria complained softly, as though complaining that she had just gone broke.
"Many thanks." The blue-robed man laughed. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"I heard that there were a lot of insect-type beasts in the Great Desolate Plains. I'm sure you could hunt them and earn. In truth, there was a reward posted to acquire some sort of scorpion's venom a few years ago. If you could obtain it, you would instantly become rich but I'm not sure if the reward is still available. Besides, I don't recommend it as hundreds of Monarchs died for it, and even some Sovereigns met the same fate."
"I see."
Zenova Artoria nodded.
Their conversation didn't last for long as they were taken to a place before they boarded a small transport ship. It seemed more like a flying boat but possessed more defensive capabilities. It looked ordinary, but there were a few strange symbols that might signify that it was under the protection of the Desert Space Bandit Hive.
They took off east, heading to the Highnode Town.
However, it appeared to be a long path since if they traversed east straight, they would enter unknown magical beast territory. The ship went southeast at some point, traversing in a curve before. It was fast, but due to the mountains and other territorial aspects, they had to take many different routes each time, which cost them more time.
Evelynn felt it was a good thing that they hired this transport service instead of going by themselves. Who knows how many territories they would've intruded into? If they didn't ask for directions at each turn, they would surely end up in trouble.
After traveling an arc that spanned for almost twelve hours, they could finally see the tall walls of the Highnode Town in the distance.
"…!"
Evelynn shuddered ever so lightly, but her expression changed significantly.
Her eyes were wide as saucers. Even her third eye opened, twitching with excitement.
"Yes!"
She screamed out, turning to look at Zenova Artoria on the other side of the small transport ship, who stared at her with amusement.
"What? Don't tell me you found him?"
She didn't know what else would manage to excite this silent killer.
"Yes, thanks to you."
Evelynn's voice was full of delight. It was clear that she was overjoyed.
She quickly tried to focus her senses and use the hex pact that she placed on Davis to share their ocular senses. Other than knowing the location he was in, she was capable of seeing what he was seeing and vice versa.
She felt emotional about being able to connect to him and sense that familiar feeling.
"Eve… Evelynn? Is that you?"
Able to hear his voice, she bit her lips, her eyes tearing up.
"So exaggerated…"
Zenova Artoria had the urge to roll her eyes as she muttered under her breath.
She couldn't see herself doing such a thing over a call to a man in the future.
"Husband… where are you?"
Evelynn asked through soul-hex transmission. She could see that he was standing on a hill and viewing a desert landscape. Underneath him was a multitude of ants. She couldn't understand why these ants would've gathered under him and kept their heads down as though worshiping him, but she was glad that he was safe.
"Thank the heav- thank whoever looked after you. Where were you, Evelynn? I searched for you far and wide in this realm." Davis's voice was also emotional.
"I'm back… I have returned safely, my love."
Evelynn smiled without being able to contain herself, "I am nearing Highnode Town as we speak. I'll be there in ten minutes. Please- please come pick me!"
"Evelynn, do not enter Highnode Town no matter what you do! A powerful Heaven's Warrior, an Empyrean named Miller Skyrend, is there!"
"…!"
Evelynn's muscles tensed at that warning.
She instantly relayed that to Zenova Artoria, who narrowed her eyes in shock before she went to the ship's help to relay an order to stop. Fortunately, there was only one captain of the ship who stopped the ship for them.
They descended and alighted in a forest, whereupon the captain told them that his mission was over and took off without waiting for their words.
"…"
Zenova Artoria thought of killing him, but that would just invite more trouble from that eloquent blue-robed man in the bandit town.
"Wait for me. I'll come for you."
Evelynn heard in her mind, causing her to shake her head vehemently.
"No, please stay. We can wait until that Heaven's Warrior leaves."
She knew they must absolutely not be caught, or they would start a life where they would have to be chased until they met death, as that was what happened to Myria.
"I don't see that happening anytime soon as they appeared to have come to recruit Clara, not to mention hunt down the assassins who tried to kill her twice."
"Wha-"
Evelynn flinched ever so lightly.
So the purple-eyed, blonde-haired Heaven's Warrior was truly Clara as she expected? But how come she was here and being targeted by assassins and not Heaven's Warriors? Did her treatment not induce any suspicion in them?
Evelynn couldn't understand heads or tails, but she could understand that she must not be near Highnode Town at the moment.
She and Zenova Artoria began to fly to a mountain to the west, and beyond that was the desert. In this case, even if that Heaven's Warrior were to come out, he wouldn't be able to come across or sense them.
"Is it big sister? Is she unharmed!?"
At this moment, Evelynn could see Davis turn to look behind.
Shirley walked out from nowhere and flew towards him. Right behind her, there was another purple-robed figure with golden patterns.
"Shirley… Isabella…! You're both safe!"
Evelynn jumped, tears gathering in her eyes as she looked at their faces through him.
