Chapter 113: I Wish
Chapter 113: I Wish
"I've rested enough. It's your turn to take a rest. I'll go and collect some of the resources first. As for those we couldn't get right now, we can get some people from the base to clear what we left." she said. Using the Centurion Rifle as support to bring herself up, Satella then returned the rifle back to Zhang Qin Feng.
"Here. Keep it. Although there's a few guns to be picked at random if we're lucky, a gun that belonged to you still best to be by your side. Don't trust other people with your weaponry." she said.
"You're not other people, Satella. You're my people." Zhang Qin Feng chuckled when he's replying to her.
"You… Sweet words…" She embarrassedly lowered her chin and turned around after listening to what Zhang Qin Feng just said.
"You don't need to collect the stuff. I've done it. Let's head back to the base after we run the area once. There are only two rows of shops and houses here, correct?" Zhang Qin Feng said.
"Don't joke with me. Even as a boss, you can't practice these kinds of wasteful attitudes. Do you know how many vials of Antiviral Material we can make from these corpses?" Satella tried to reprimand Zhang Qin Feng after hearing what he just said.
But before she managed to continue, Zhang Qin Feng grabbed her hand tight like he wanted her to listen to him first.
"If I said I've done it, then I've done it. I don't joke about these things." Zhang Qin Feng forcefully pulled her to walk with him as they get further into that small residential area.
"Alright…" Satella nodded. It was her first time seeing Zhang Qin Feng behaving like this. Perhaps she was too quick on her own judgment.
They roughly checked the available buildings and cleared a few more zombies. After making sure that's nothing valuable left around, the two returned to the Wind Base at a regular walking pace.
"Feng, let's have a word after dinner, alright?" Satella requested. From her expression, there's something she wanted to make clear before it gets more puzzling.
"Sure." Zhang Qin Feng replied to her with a smile on his face.
It was still busy as ever inside the Wind Base. Since everyone had their own work, not a single person is seen idling around, except Zhang Qin Feng. He did try to see if he can get used to their commonsense, but the truth hurts.
He finds it hard to understand what was in their mind.
Luckily, there were several interesting things for him. Checking out how the Reprinter Unit operates, looking at how Miria and Miriam run the test on that prototype Wolfram Light, and watching how Victor maintained the junks took all his time off.
It was evening by the time he noticed the change of light outside the window.
"Boss, it's time for dinner," Victor called.
"Alright, let's go." Zhang Qin Feng nodded and placed the junk back in the basket. Their dinner for the night seems to be instant noodles again. Feeling that he should get them something else to eat the next time he came here, Zhang Qin Feng had Stein reminds him after returning to the modern world.
Everyone returned to their respective room after the dinner, leaving only Zhang Qin Feng and Satella in the penthouse.
"Feng…" Satella looked at Zhang Qin Feng. The question lingering around her lips was having a hard time deciding to come out or remain hiding.
"Just ask. I've told you that you're my people, so what are you worried about?" Zhang Qin Feng sat comfortably on the sofa placed in the living room. It was pretty comfortable, considering this was his first time using it.
Before this, the only places he frequents the most inside this penthouse were the bedroom and the kitchen.
"You-You're not someone from this world, am I correct?" Satella said.
"When did you notice that?" Zhang Qin Feng did not deny the question, but his reply wasn't really answering her. And since Stein did not respond to their conversation, it seems to be giving Zhang Qin Feng complete freedom on how he prefers to handle this matter.
"If I had to say… From the time you give me the Decrystalization Serum." Satella answered.
"That early? Doesn't that mean you've been suspecting me for the whole time until now?" Zhang Qin Feng smiled as he looked at Satella with a pair of clear eyes.
"Yes. Do you hate me for that? If you want to be angry that I'm using you selfishly, you can do so. I know that I don't have the right to do this." Satella added.
"You're using me? For what? For making a base? As a sex partner? Or because I have many foods in my backpack?" Zhang Qin Feng jokes. Although he knew the reason for Satella for mentioning such a thing, he would like to feign ignorance for a while longer.
"For… Food and protection…"
"But! But!"
"I'm honest when it comes to what we did on the bed! It wasn't done with bad intentions!" she answered, but knowing that she might miss the opportunity to speaks if she remained passive, she picked up the courage to do so.
"Satella." Zhang Qin Feng called her name.
"Huh?" his sudden change in tone made her felt slightly uneasy.
"Are you my woman?" he asked.
"I… I am…" she meekly said.
"Then that's enough. Come here and sit on my lap." Zhang Qin Feng smiled and patted his thigh. Shyly, Satella came and sat on top of him. There was just a breath distance between their face.
"The answer to your question was a yes. I am indeed from a different place from here. Now, what was in your mind after knowing this?" Zhang Qin Feng whispered beside her ear as he answered the question.
"Surprised, but that's all. Does that mean what you brought here was what you people eat in your world?" she continued.
"Yes." Zhang Qin Feng nodded.
"I wish I can see the world you're from. I wonder if it was much more beautiful than here…" Satella said while turning her head to the windows where the sun was setting.
