Danmachi- Hell’s Forge

Changes and jukebox

Changes and jukebox

'About what I expected after so much accumulation and changes.' I thought looking over the paper carefully.

As I had expected RCT had shown up as a skill on my page and if I wasn't mistaken all that was left was domain expansion before I would cease to gain any new skills. I wasn't surprised by this as that was the last thing available to curse users that wasn't just further refinement of their techniques. This did have me a little curious however as to what my final spell slot would be filled with in the end.-

The rule of people only getting three spells on their falna was neither new or different for anyone. No one in all of history had ever broken this rule and I highly doubted I'd be the one to change that. So far my spell slots were filled with Hell related cursed techniques so one would think that pattern would continue but I hoped to be able to change that with my final cursed technique. It wasn't a pointless hope either as the falna was famous for responding to ones desires so long as they were strong enough.-

Looking over my developmental skills I was also not surprised to see that they had each risen by a rank which was definitely going to be useful. [Curse-smith] for example at the new G rank would allow me to push the effects and potency of my creations even further much like how the regular creation based DS's worked as they ranked up. In theory DS's worked to push that aspect of ones self closer to the divine level of whatever it was after all. In my case that meant that my creations were going to approach the same level of those of Hephaestus herself.-

I don't mean the level she had here in the mortal realm either but rather the one she held in the divine realm where she had no limiters on her. All gods were mere shadows of their true selves in the mortal realm as the place simply couldn't withstand their full selves in any regard. This meant that despite still being the best craftsman in the world Hephaestus's creations were nowhere near her best work. Obviously she knew this and thus judged anything that she saw with that as the upper limit as she'd never be moved by anything at all otherwise. -

Anyways [Cursebody] was a bit different than my first DS as it served more as a passive buff than anything else. It was also a good indicator of how close to being a cursed spirit I was as I assumed reaching C rank in the skill meant being almost entirely curse since at the moment I was still mostly human. There were pros and cons here like always as on one hand getting more curse-like was not great for anyone. On the other hand my cursed energy had never flowed so smoothly through my body before and it was only getting smoother every moment as my body adapted to my new status.-

"See it was fine, just as I promised." I said with a smile.

"It was still a little unpleasant." Hestia said looking away not willing to say I was right.

"Whatever you say, oh goddess of mine. Still I don't know about you but I think a celebration is in order." I said with a chuckle.

That cheered her up and after I slipped on a plain white cotton shirt and waited for Bell and the others to arrive we went to the hostess to celebrate. There was plenty of booze and both Daphne and Lili almost let it slip they had a crush on Bell in their drunken stupor while Cassandra straight up passed the fuck out after a few glasses of wine. It was a good time all around even if I had to get my familia home since I alone was the only person sober. As it turned out being immune to poison meant alcohol did absolutely nothing to me and I may as well have been drinking water. It was rather funny how Syr looked at me in heartfelt pity for my inability to enjoy alcohol to it's fullest.-

I snickered in the morning when my entire familia was hung over nursing glasses of orange juice while nibbling toast.

"Ugh, it's no fair that you get to be just fine after drinking more than all of us." Daphne complained wincing as she did so.

"It's both a gift and a curse." I said with a grin.

"Not so loud!" Hestia said rubbing her temple as she no doubt had a pounding headache.

I didn't feel like pointing out that I could just purge the alcohol from their system and thus cure them of their hangovers since I wanted to be petty.

I didn't get to be drunk while they did so it was only natural they pay for it afterwards. It also wasn't like they were planning to do anything today so it didn't really matter. For me personally I was going to spend the day relaxing and playing around with Ptah's most recent commission. The god was as always wanting to see my art pushed to it's limit and had this time commissioned me to create an artistic magic item with the only specification being that it had to be as intricate as I could make it.-

I had already gotten an idea about what I was going to make him and if I pulled it off it was bound to blow his socks off. See my idea was to create a music box with the potential to hold dozens of songs. I chose to take some inspiration from the record players from earth except my version would be both magical in nature and also would hold more than one record at a time, so kinda like a jukebox. To accomplish this I was actually going to mix several cursed tools together since this was far too complex for a single tool to pull off.-Nôv(el)B\\jnn

The first cursed tool I made was the "record" which was in fact a smooth hard crystal marble that I imbued with a cursed technique that allowed it to record a single piece of sound in exacting detail so long as it was under five minutes long. I used refined purified dungeon crystal for this since it was both visibly appealing and in abundance. I created a good thirty of these small cursed marbles that I set aside to begin working on the next cursed tool, the recorder and reader.-

This was a small ring that when placed around the marbles activated their ability to record sound or if set over them upside down read the sound on the orb to be played. From there I made the external casing for the whole thing that had a mechanism of four buttons that each did different things. The first rotated the marbles to select the desired one, the second set the ring to record sound onto a marble. The third was the "play" button to make the ring be set to read the sound and the final button was the "pause" button that caused the sound to stop at an exact moment and even continue at it if pressed again.
