Chapter 50: 50 : Force Cultivation
Felix smiled slightly as he looked at them, then shook his head. "As for me, I won't be going anywhere. I'll be staying in the mansion during this period," Felix shrugged his shoulders.
"Big bro, you're so bad. You have given us a lot of work to do while you stay behind and do nothing," Nixie rolled her eyes at Felix.
Felix cast a faint glance at her. "Do you know how busy I was during these days? I've been running to the restaurant, making sure everything is in order. Do you know how tiring that is? I haven't had any good rest during these past few days, okay. I will be taking a few days off to rest and recover my energy."
Nixie looked at Felix with wide eyes and exclaimed, "Big bro, you are so shameless! You're a Mana Cultivator, how can you be tired after just a few days? I bet even if you worked for a whole month, you wouldn't be tired at all. You just want to be lazy."
Felix playfully tapped her head and replied, "Hey, how can you call me lazy? Look at my hair, it's starting to fall out from all the thinking and mental stress I've been dealing with, okay?"
Nixie rubbed her head in frustration. "Just admit it, you want to be lazy," she said.
"Darn you," Felix gritted his teeth.
"Can you two please stop?" Trinity said, rubbing her temples. "Can you stop arguing all the time?"
"She started it," Felix pointed at Nixie.
"What? You're the one who wanted to be lazy," Nixie widened her eyes.
"Okay, okay, stop it," Trinity shouted. "I don't know what to do with you two. How can you always act so immature?"
"Nixie, big bro Felix is right. He's been running the restaurant and needs some rest. So stop arguing with him," Trinity looked at Nixie and added.
"Humph",Nixie crossed her arms and snorted.
Felix gave a smug look at Nixie, his expression like a child who had won a candy battle.
"And you, can you act mature and stop arguing with Nixie? You're a grown man, so stop acting like a child," Trinity turned to Felix and said.
"Yes, ma'am," Felix lowered his head.
Nixie covered her mouth and giggled, while Zephyr and Brixton were also chuckling. Even Gwendolyn, who rarely smiles, had a slight smile on the corner of her mouth.
Felix glared at Zephyr and Brixton with a cold light flashing in his eyes. Immediately, both of them stopped laughing and pretended as if nothing had happened.
To be honest, Felix was really afraid of Trinity, not in the sense that she could beat him or anything like that, but what he was afraid of was when she got angry.
Remembering what Trinity did when she was provoked or angry, Felix felt a cold chill running down his spine.
"That's good," Trinity nodded in satisfaction. Felix smiled bitterly, shook his head, rubbed his nose, and looked at the rest.
"Okay, this is all for now," Felix said. His face turned serious as he looked at Zephyr, Trinity, and Brixton. "You guys should make sure that you complete what I told you in three months."
Zephyr, Brixton, and Trinity nodded.
"Apart from that, I want everyone to reach Tier 3 in these three months, no slacking off," Felix added as he eyed Zephyr and Nixie.
Zephyr's face turned quite unsightly when he heard Felix, and Nixie's expression was not much better.
"Umm, big bro," Zephyr raised his hand. Felix smiled and looked at him.
"Ahem... big bro, you see, I will have a lot of work to do since I'm going to take control of the slums. I won't have time to cultivate, so..." Zephyr scratched his head and said sheepishly.
"Well, that's your problem. If you can't reach Tier 3 in three months, then you will see how I'll deal with you,"
"And you Nixie, this goes for you too - if you can't reach Tier 3 in the next three months, well, hehehehe... " Felix smiled creepily as he looked at Nixie.
Nixie and Zephyr exchanged worried glances. They both hated Cultivating, and now Felix was making them do it. They wondered what Felix would do if they failed to reach Tier 3 in three months.
Felix sighed as he observed them. They were incredibly talented, but their laziness was holding them back.
Cultivating was not their cup of tea, and it was giving Felix a headache trying to figure out how to deal them.
"You two, I'm serious. If you don't reach Tier 3 in three months, I will punish you severely," Felix said.
"No, let me tell you your punishment first. Zephyr, if you fail to reach Tier 3, you will be locked up for a month. You won't be allowed to go out," Felix said with a smile.
Zephyr's expression drastically changed. The thought of being locked up for a month made his face turn pale and he started to sweat.
He didn't know what he would do if he couldn't go out for a whole month. Thinking of being locked up in a room for a month without going out, Zephyr felt a cold shine creeping on his spine, his face turned slightly pale.
Felix chuckled to himself, wondering how he could uncover Zephyr's weakness. The guy had a knack for disappearing into thin air, always acting mysterious.
Zephyr's hobby was exploring the city, gathering news and gossip from all corners. He never stayed in one place for long, always flitting about.
Turning to Nixie, Felix delivered a warning. "If you don't hit Tier 3 on time, you won't get paid for three months. And all your money will be taken away," he said sternly.
Nixie's eyes widened in shock. "What?!" she exclaimed.
Frantically waving her hands, Nixie protested, "No way, big bro! You can't do that to me. Taking my money is robbery!"
Felix just shrugged. "I don't care. That's your problem," he replied casually. It was clear that money meant everything to Nixie, and Felix planned to use that to his advantage if she didn't meet Tier 3.
"Big sis," Nixie turned to Trinity with a pitiful expression.
Trinity shook her head. "Not this time, Nixie. Big bro Felix is right. You two have immense potential and talents, but you're too lazy. Zephyr is lazy too, but at least he cultivates once in a while. What about you?"
Nixie lowered her head, looking upset.
Trinity gently rubbed her head. "You have a natural talent for magic, but you don't like to cultivate. Some people would kill to have your talent, but you're not taking advantage of it. How do you expect to become strong and protect yourself?"
"Are you guys always going to be there?" Nixie muttered quietly.
Trinity shook her head, thinking Nixie was naive. "We can't always be there to protect you. You need to cultivate and become strong to protect yourself and us."
Nixie kept her head down, fidgeting with her skirt.
Trinity looked at Felix, who smiled and shrugged. "How about this: if you reach Tier 3 in three months, I'll give you 10,000 Gold Coins. Deal?"
Nixie looked up at Trinity with excitement. "Really?"
Trinity was surprised by Nixie's sudden change in attitude. She nodded. "Yes, as long as you reach Tier 3 in three months, you'll get 10,000 Gold Coins."
"Yeah, big sis is the best!" Nixie jumped up and hugged Trinity, then stuck her tongue out at Felix playfully.
Nixie let go of Trinity and scurried towards the door of the study room, leaving Felix and the others stunned.
"Where are you going?" Trinity asked, confused.
"I'm going to cultivate," Nixie replied without looking back.
Felix rubbed his nose, amazed by Nixie's change of attitude "This girl is really something."
Just then, Zephyr walked towards the entrance. Felix looked at him and asked, "Are you also going to cultivate?" Zephyr nodded without turning back. Felix thought for a moment and then called out, "Wait!" Zephyr stopped and turned around, looking at Felix with confusion. Felix smiled and said, "I have something for you."
He turned around and picked up a long black box from a small desk a few feet away.
Felix placed the long black box in front of Zephyr and said, "Open it." Zephyr's eyes filled with curiosity as he looked at the box. Trinity, Brixton, and Gwendolyn also looked on with interest.
Zephyr reached out and slowly opened the box. A dense black mist seeped out, filling the room with a chilling aura. Trinity and the others became serious, wondering what could emit such a powerful and cold presence.
Zephyr's eyes widened as he pulled out a long black blade from the box. The blade was completely black and adorned with a red skull on the hilt, emitting a sinister aura. The room felt heavy with the presence of the blade. Trinity and the others looked on with solemn expressions.
"Big bro, where did you get this blade?" Zephyr asked in amazement.
Felix smiled and explained, "I got it from someone causing trouble at the restaurant. I took it as compensation."
The blade was the same one Sigurd had used in a recent battle with Seraphine Netherfrost. When the system had intervened in the battle and took the blade, but Felix managed to acquire it by paying a lot of BEP.
"Do you like it?" Felix asked with a smile.
Zephyr nodded enthusiastically, his eyes shining with excitement. He really loved this blade.
"Just be careful when you use it," Felix warned. "It has the power to corrupt the mind, so be cautious."
Zephyr nodded again, his expression turning serious and solemn.
