Chapter 57: Updating
Inside of the same building that contained Gaia, the devs were hard at work to push a mew update.
One of the many complaints given by the players was the lack of an actual value for health, stamina and mana.
Not only the lack of a real number on them but the stats that each character had felt less impactful without knowing what each of them could do.
Players had figured out that strength affected your physical power and vitality affected your health, agility affected speed and the magical stats would affect mana cost and damage respectively for wisdom and intelligence.
The thing that many would also learn was the apparent secondary effect of each stat like strength affecting your carry weight when bringing bodies back to the guilds.
Vitality would increase natural health regen and base defense.
Agility was used by rogues as their main damage source in conjunction with strength.
Wisdom made skill progression easier and intelligence made learning skills easier.
The value of each stat was known if anyone took the time to learn it but the devs still felt they could do more.
For now they would focus on giving the hidden stats a visible value.

When Ezekiel woke up the nexy day he was ready to immediately enter the pod, the servers would be opening again at about seven in the morning in his timezone so he had to be up early for it.
Getting into his pod and starting the game to wait for the server to open he actually saw something interesting.

Update Installed- Bloodlines Online.

While waiting for the server a figure in a green dress and fairy wings appeared before him.
"Hello player, I am the system protocol known as Titania and my job is to explain the changes that you will see in the character pannel because of this update."
When looking down he saw that he was his avatar again.
"This update has given a numerical value to your resources, specifically health, stamina and mana."
His status screen was forced open then.
On his status he saw the value next to his hp was 1925.
"A new player beginning at lv1 will have 100 hp and for each point into the base vitality stat they will recieve 5 hp."
"Unless stated, vitality given by an item will not give any additional hp."
The next thing he saw was his stamina which was a measly 200.
"As with hp, stamina will start with a value of 100 and gain 5 for each point of strength."
Then he saw his mana at 2200.
"Unlike the other stats, mana growth is based upon level and skills that aid it. Every level gained will add an additional 10 mana to the base amount."
Ezekiel was mildly annoyed that his mana would not grow stronger with any of his stats like the rest would but he quickly got over it when he thought about how easy it was to regain his mana.
While thinking about all of it he tried out his new favorite spell, the nova needle.
Before when he was estimating how much mana it used he would just try to see how much of the bar was used but now he knew that this spell cost about 1% of his mana which was significant and in fact it did remove 22 mana from his total.
He loved the idea that he could spam the nova needle indefinitely but then he tried out the version he would infuse with as much mana as possible to cause significant damage.
He let his mana regen bring back his maximum and then he cast ehat he liked to call an infused nova needle which at this point he could use 5% of his mana in.
The result was a stronger explosive power combined with the damage of the nova needle, he had come up with this spell after seeing how his efforts to bypass enemy defenses to damage the inside was making things harder on him.
It might not be an amazing update but it at least gave him a better perspective of his power.
