Chapter 4 Plans To Hoard An Overpowered Cheat

"I still wonder what those unknown skills were in my status. Both their names and description were hidden from me."

Thinking back to when I was writing about how this worked, I remembered a setting I had added related to skills. If an Awakened possessed a skill, the rank of which was quite higher than the Awakened's own rank, coupled with the fact that even if the Awakened tried to, he still wouldn't be able to use the skill, then, in that case, the skill's name and description would be hidden. This wasn't really a problem for me because as long as I grew in strength, I'd be able to use those skills eventually.

What was intriguing was the fact that I didn't have these skills before I transmigrated. This could mean I somehow obtained some mysterious powers during my Transmigration itself, ones that I had no knowledge of. While pondering over my new skills, I opened the hologram in my smartwatch to help me navigate toward the mana train.

Technology had massively advanced with the help of mana, combined with the pre-existing technology. In the year 2047, almost everyone wore a Smartwatch that had features such as holograms. One of the biggest, and most convenient changes were the Mana Trains, which operated at a very low cost, yet worked in an extremely efficient manner. Mana Trains were running across almost the whole continent.

70 years ago, when Mana was released all across the world, changes started to happen to the world itself. All the continents suddenly started to move towards each other and joined together to make the supercontinent - Eupheris. Along with the advent of dungeons across the world, the core of the world itself started to mutate. According to several researchers, the core itself now started to produce mana thus making an infinite supply of mana for each and every single organism in the world. This specific change caused the radius of the world to increase as several mysterious lands started to appear from worlds beyond.

These mysterious lands brought with them various races which then proceeded to occupy a portion of the supercontinent for themselves. Currently, humans occupied most of Eupheris, claiming the territory of almost 75% of the land. Other races such as Demons, Elves, Dwarves, and Dragons further split up the remaining 25% of land for themselves.

Suppressing my wandering thoughts for a while, I sat down in the mana train as I dazedly decided to stare at, and admire the city. The place I was heading to now was in the wilderness. Due to several animals evolving into Magical Beasts, a good part of the continent was now also uninhabited due to the fact that it was simply too dangerous to live near those beasts.

Now, you might be wondering why, even if I'm going to try to obtain an overpowered cheat, am going to risk my life rather than to get a bit stronger before trying to obtain it. No, it's not that I'm scared about others obtaining it. The reason is quite simply actually. Firstly, the place where that specific "cheat" is located is not too far from the city I'll get off at from the mana train shortly, though it is very well hidden. This means that while there could be Beasts, they obviously wouldn't be too strong. If they were extremely dangerous, say around A or S ranked, some awakeners from the Association(an organization akin to the government for all of the humans collectively) would be dispatched to hunt them down.

Now, this doesn't mean that I can deal with any beasts below [A] rank. No, that'd be absolutely wrong! This brings us to the second reason which is the fact that even though that place is hidden, it still permeates an unconscious aura that keeps all kinds of beings away from it, unless if you're actually trying to go the place itself. This means that as long as I get a bit close to that specific place, I'd encounter absolutely no humans or beasts. The third reason is that while I don't currently have a sword on me, skills and mana can be used on other items too. This means I could try to activate my skill even while holding a wooden stick, though it obviously wouldn't have an effect even half as comparable to that of using a sword.

It is completely possible for humans to coat items with mana, temporarily increasing their strength, sharpness, durability, etc while they're being coated by it. Though this is something I cannot do at the moment as normally you'd have to be at least at the [C-] rank to achieve something similar. But even if the durability of any random item I pick up isn't as good as a sword, I never needed to kill the beasts myself. I only need to simply run as fast as I can towards the place and I'd be safe.

Finally, the last and most important reason I'm confident nothing would go too wrong such as a [D] or [C] ranked beast chasing me is that..

'I'm an extra.'
