AI Doctor : From Slave to Beast King

Chapter 100: Never wrong

"What's going on here?" Wistoria made her way towards the crowd and questioned one of the men standing at the back. At the front stood the guards from the magistrate's office, and Wistoria believed it wasn't a good move to alert the authorities so soon.

The man turned to look at her, and his eyes flashed with glee when he saw a beauty standing next to him.

With a smarmy voice, he replied, "It's nothing. It seems like two men were murdered by a few thieves, and their bodies were dumped near the trash can in this alley. It's not a surprise with how fast crimes are getting out of hand in this city."

Wistoria frowned upon hearing the response of the man. She turned and glanced at Levy; the two exchanged a dark look before Wistoria turned on her feet and walked away.

The man, however, was not aware of it. He had his head lowered and was still speaking, "But there is no need to fear, miss. If you are scared, then you stay with me. I can see that you are not from here, and as I work as a knight, I can definitely keep you safe. Don't think I am lying – I am on holiday today, which is why I am dressed like this…"

He raised his head and turned to look at the woman beside him. The man hoped to see a starry-eyed woman, looking at him as if he were her prince charming, only to find an elderly woman standing next to him.

"Will you really do that for an old woman like me?" The elderly woman spoke with a shaky voice. "I am so glad that there are such courageous men as you in this city. Now if you don't mind, can you help me with these bags?"

The man stared at the elderly woman and her shopping bags dreadfully. He wanted to charm a woman into his bed, not become a free coolie!

On the other side, Wistoria was walking down the streets with a strangely worried look on her face.

"It seems like those men are in a hurry," she remarked. "They even hijacked a carriage, even if it attracted the attention of the authorities."

"Isn't that a foolish thing to do?" Levy questioned as the two of them dodged the people rushing over to see the fanfare at the end of the street. "Now that the authorities are alerted, it's only a matter of time before they are caught."

"Not if they do the damage that they intend to do before they are arrested."

And on that happy note, the two of them rushed to a horse stable. Getting past the crowd on a carriage was near to impossible now, with how the entire street was filled with crowds of people.

'I hope we make it in time,' thought Wistoria worriedly as she headed inside the stable to rent a horse.

On the other side,

Inside the carriage, Andres was staring out of the window of the carriage. His eyes flickered as he looked at the people who were rushing towards their house or somewhere else.

He clicked his tongue and muttered, "These people really don't know how to keep mum. Look at them making a fuss over such an unimportant thing."

"Only two bodies, and they are out of their minds. What will they do once they find out that their deaths are not that far away either?"

Ollie picked his nose with his pinky. He blew the gunk off the tip once he was done before remarking, "Well, that's why you should have burnt those bodies, Andres. Now the authorities are going to come after us."

No sooner did he finish speaking; he felt a sting on the back of his palms. A searing hot sensation spread all over his body like molten magma replacing his blood, and Ollie tumbled off the seat where he was sitting.

Andres looked at the kneeling man, his scorpion stinger retracting.

With a glare, he said to Ollie, "Do you think that such a small thing can disrupt my plans?"

"Of –Of course not," Ollie replied while trying to stop the screams that were bubbling in his throat from erupting.

"That's right," Asher said to him and the rest of the men inside the carriage as well as outside. "There is no way a little thing such as that will put a halt to our grand plan. Unless one of you is stupid enough to announce it to the entire world."

"Don't worry, leader," Clyden stated warily while looking at Ollie, whose complexion was turning pale. He hoped that Asher didn't use an exaggerating amount of poison or else —

He shook his head before saying flatteringly, "There is no way any of us will do a thing as stupid as that." He glanced at the rest of the guild members, who nodded at once.

"That's right."

"Of course not."

The others agreed at once, for they feared Andres's wrath.

Satisfied with their response, Andres smirked. He turned his head to the left and stared out the window.

"Hmm, what is that?" He mused with an amused glint in his eyes.

Clyde and the rest turned to look in the direction where their leader was looking.

In front of them stood four men facing a giant, decaying mole monster.

"Well, well, well.. Would you look at that?" Andres chuckled. He pulled his leg up the seat and snickered, "It seems like those adventurers are killing that poor thing."

"Hmm," he tilted his head to one side before remarking, "Well, what should we do?" His eyes were glinting sharply. "I feel sorry for that little guy."

He fumbled around with his cloak and soon took out a small vial from one of the pockets of the cloak.

He then opened the window and took aim.

The vial that was in his hands slipped past his fingers and headed straight to the decaying mole.

CRACK.

The glass vial shattered, and Andres's lips curled up in an even more satisfied smirk, "Have fun, little one."
