Chapter 1427: Old Familiar Friend

After soothing Qin Jiujie's heart, the Illusion Heavenly Emperor warmly explained, "Although the scheme that enveloped the World's End River Region failed to allow the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus Grand Devil King to descend, we still managed to bring about an Other Disaster. As a result, it could be said that we achieved our goals."

Qin Jiujie truthfully felt some doubt in his heart about the Origin Reversion Institute's plans to incite Other Disasters throughout the divine continents. He could sense that there was some ulterior motive hidden behind these actions and that it was a core secret of the organization. As he had just joined, he was not yet qualified to know what it was. That said, he was smart enough to not ask any questions.

"Honored One, I have something else I'd like to report," Qin Jiujie suddenly said.

The Illusion Heavenly Emperor smiled. "Speak."

"I suspect that Li Luo from the Dragon's Fang Lineage possesses the Genesis Seed."

The rod in the Illusion Heavenly Emperor's hand stilled momentarily before a smile appeared on its handsome and cultured face. "The Dragon's Fang Lineage's Li Luo? The Genesis Seed too? This is indeed important news. I understand." It nodded but did not order Qin Jiujie to do anything about it.

"Spirit Eye, take Jiujie to the Origin Reversion Institute's branch so a task can be assigned to him. At the same time, inform them of the news of our newest Other King."

Spirit Eye nodded upon hearing the Illusion Heavenly Emperor's commands and didn't speak further.

The void then began to distort, and Qin Jiujie and Spirit Eye Other King vanished.

Shortly after they vanished, the Illusion Heavenly Emperor waved its sleeve, and the void formed a spectacular and vast map portraying ten boundless continents.

It was none other than the ten divine continents.

On it were countless scarlet spots of light that flickered and emanated evil auras. The Illusion Heavenly Emperor glanced at the area representing the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent. On it was a particularly eye-catching mote of scarlet light that represented the Other Disaster that had been set off on the territories of the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qin. Every single mote of light essentially represented an Other Disaster of different scales.

Under the ordinary motes of red light were all sorts of corpses strewn across the fields in decrepit conditions.

If the motes of light were to be connected, they would form a gigantic, bloody network that radiated a terrifying aura. This network of blood was larger than anyone could imagine, covering every corner of the divine continents. But when faced with this shocking scene, the Illusion Heavenly Emperor's eyes were filled with cold indifference. As the scarlet motes of light were reflected in its eyes, it mused to itself, "When that person finally awakens, all of the chaos in this world will finally end. Only then will the world know that the path the Origin Reversion Institute has chosen is the right one."

The Illusion Heavenly Emperor lowered its eyes, and the vast map vanished. It then stretched out its finger, causing the void in front of it to shatter. Someone walked out of it.

This individual was tall and dressed in black. He looked handsome, and between his eyebrows was a black lotus mark that gave off a chilly air. The black lotus seemed to be slowly squirming as it emitted harsh, ear-grating screams.

If Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e were here, they would be shocked.

This was their "old friend," Shen Jinxiao! It was unexpected that so many years after leaving the Xia Kingdom, he had joined the Origin Reversion Institute.

"I greet the Honored One." Shen Jinxiao respectfully kneeled.

The Illusion Heavenly Emperor nodded and smiled. "You are from the Xia Kingdom, so you should be acquainted with Li Luo, yes?"

That name caused the image of a youth to appear in Shen Jinxiao's mind. He nodded and sighed. "I never thought those two kids would end up achieving so much. I can only imagine that they have always wished to return to the Xia Kingdom and grind this old friend of theirs into dust."

"Then I think you will find this opportunity a pleasure." The Illusion Heavenly Emperor smiled.

"The Celestial Mirror Pagoda is about to open up, and the Celestial Mirror Martial Exchange will be the center of attention amongst the divine continents. Who knows just how many talented geniuses will rise there and become famous?"

At this point, the Illusion Heavenly Emperor said in a mocking tone, "Meanwhile, the Academic Federation still thinks that the Celestial Mirror Pagoda belongs to them. Shen Jinxiao, I want you to enter the Celestial Mirror Pagoda and make preparations for the Origin Reversion Institute's plans. There is an object we require within there. Retrieve it for me."

Shen Jinxiao paused and asked, "I don't have the right to enter the Celestial Mirror Pagoda. Additionally, in my current state, I'm afraid I'll be discovered the moment I approach it. I'm not afraid of dying, but I fear that I may negatively affect your plans, Honored One."

After the incident in the Xia Kingdom, Shen Jinxiao had embarked on an evil path with the support of the Origin Reversion Institute. If he was revealed, he would definitely be put to death as an Other by the Academic Federation.

As someone who used to be a mentor at the Astral Sage College, he was clear on how much importance the Academic Federation placed on the Celestial Mirror Pagoda, and there would likely be more than one King overseeing the place. Entering directly was tantamount to suicide.

Although the Illusion Heavenly Emperor had explained the situation, Shen Jinxiao understood in his heart that as a mere chess piece of the Origin Reversion Institute, entering the Academic Federation's tightly guarded Celestial Mirror Pagoda to cause trouble was as dangerous as licking blood off the edge of a knife. A single mistake and he would be eliminated with no trace left behind.

That said, Shen Jinxiao did not reveal any form of hesitation. He merely nodded and said, "My life belongs to you."

A Heavenly Emperor telling him to act was his honor, and he couldn't possibly refuse. Of course, he never planned to. Only by doing things like this could he climb further up the ladder. In these short years and with the Origin Reversion Institute's support, his strength had soared and he far surpassed his original strength in the Xia Kingdom.

The Illusion Heavenly Emperor was greatly pleased by his attitude and smiled. "Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e have both embarked on the Path of Ascension, but with your strength, there is no need to fear them. When the plan is complete, you will capture Li Luo."

Shen Jinxiao deferentially agreed. Although this entire scheme sounded fanciful, he understood that the Illusion Heavenly Emperor and the Origin Reversion Institute definitely had a plan that would allow for it.

After being with them all these years, he had gained a deep understanding of just how terrifying they were.

"If things are completed in a satisfactory manner, you will have hope of becoming a King," the Illusion Heavenly Emperor casually remarked, throwing in a carrot for good measure.

Shen Jinxiao's body trembled and his eyes filled with unadulterated joy and ambition. He heavily kowtowed towards the Heavenly Emperor.

"I'm willing to die for you, Honored One."

The Illusion Heavenly Emperor waved its hand, then Shen Jinxiao began to turn illusory before finally vanishing.

It grinned.

"Academic Federation, you've managed to accidentally stumble upon the leftover remnants of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. Your understanding of the Celestial Mirror Pagoda is far too shallow. You will never know that the largest inheritor of the sect was none other than the Origin Reversion Institute!"

After it spoke, it lightly cast out its hook, which sank into the huge river. Deep within the river, a gigantic creature bobbed up and down.
