Spelunking
I flipped the roasting birds to cook the other side and started to look at my new I.D. It was similar to the size of a credit card and had looked to be made of some sort of plastic. It was pale white-green in the middle and had two thick bright green stripes at the top an bottom. On the right side in the middle was a pokeball symbol and a picture of my face. On the left side however was all of my vital information such as name , blood type(A+) , I.D number and allergies(none). -
Honestly speaking it was so simple looking that I almost didn't believe that this was a legal I.D but the system hasn't messed up so far so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. Once the food was done I let Gaia grab her portion(the lions share) and grabbed the one bird set aside for my self. I could only watch jealously as she eagerly ate her food without having to worry about burning herself. I on the other hand could only blow on my whole roasted Pidgey until it stopped steaming before tentatively taking a bite.-
'OH MY MOTHER FUCKING GODS THIS IS SO GOOD!' I thought as the rich flavor rolled over my tongue giving me a mini mouthgasm in the process. Take the the flavor of a thanksgiving turkey and a roast chicken and fuse them together and you'd have the flavor of roasted Pidgey. It was moist and rich and if no one ate these things in this world it should be a sin. Jokes aside this was by far some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life and I was so happy to eat it.-
After polishing off a whole roast Pidgey to the point of feeling bloated I piled up all my collected feathers and promptly laid down on them. It didn't do much but at least it was slightly softer than the hard stone ground. Remaining perfectly still I began to breath in through my mouth and out through my nose slowly while mentally chanting the mantra of the aura meditation method. I didn't think I'd get anything really done with this meditation but it gave me something to occupy my mind as I tried to get to sleep nice and early.-
When I next opened my eyes the rays of the sun were starting to peek over the horizon and once again Gaia had blocked the entrance to the cave with her sturdy back. Waking her up after reviving the fire I noticed something outside the cave that definitely wasn't there before , a corpse. Specifically a familiar looking Poochyena with it's neck crushed in an equally familiar manner. I was obviously able to tell what had happened. 'So this thing decided to try and attack us in our sleep but got dealt with easily by Gaia huh?' I thought coldly while narrowing my eyes at the sight.-
I wasn't very a big fan of vengeful acts on earth so I definitely didn't care about whatever thought it was that brought this thing here to do so. "Unless you want to eat it get rid of the body , we don't want it stinking up the area." I said and Gaia grunted before walking over to the body roughly grabbing it and throwing it as hard as she could over the forest. It was only a few moments later that I heard a loud "CRASH!" as the corpse struck a tree way in the distance and I assumed fell to the forest floor below.-
"Brutal but effective , good work." I said and Gaia rumbled happily at the complement. Grabbing my bag and now useable torch We leave the cave and start heading up to the cave system we found yesterday. There was a level ten Geodude who thought he was being slick by blocking the path but Gaia calmly picked him up and tossed him over the side down the mountain. This apparently counted as a victory in the systems opinion as she grew to level eleven as a result.-
Other than that the trip was uneventful and we arrived at the hole she dug out into this new cave system fairly quickly. A rock and ground type like Gaia was right at home in the dark cave as she walked right in without any trouble. I on the other hand took out a couple of the iron stones I had and smashed them together over the torches end until it lit up illuminating the surroundings. Everything was dull brown but there was no stalactites or stalagmites which showed that this part of the cave hadn't been formed via water. I only knew that because I once watched a movie where someone got killed by the hanging stone spikes and did research on them just in case.-
"Alright lets take our time here and keep our eyes open for other pokemon as well as any treasures." I said and Gaia nodded "Larvitar!" she said excitedly as she started to move forward. I followed behind her carefully while looking at each and every wall carefully so I didn't miss anything. We got pretty far into the cave before anything interesting happened and by interesting I mean we found our first pokemon , a level fifteen Parasect. -
Not going to lie the thing was straight up nightmare fuel as it was about as big as myself in height but looked like a huge mix of a crab and a spider with the disturbing mouth parts and everything , the only difference was the huge red and yellow mushroom and lifeless white eyes. Gaia seemed to agree with me as she wasted no time at all ripping the thing apart with vicious resolve. She didn't level up from that but then again it wasn't much off a challenge since she did not give it an opportunity to use any moves.-
"Yeah feel free to kill any of those you see , the more unrecognizable the better." I suggested and she nodded with a serious expression. After that I caught a lucky break and found an everstone in the wall that I had Gaia dig out for me. I didn't think I'd ever really use the thing but it was still valuable and I doubted I was going to live on this mountain forever. Of course I had no plans of leaving the area anytime soon as both Gaia and I were too weak at the moment. The next little event for us in the cave was finding a second area from this one.-
Gaia and I chose to come back to that later once we finished exploring this area which was a good thing too as I found a hardstone. I was a strangely gemlike thing the size of a cherry that glowed ever so slightly brown. 'Appraise.' I thought while looking at the stone and a system entry for it appeared.-
