Chapter 102: 3 Months Later Part 2

Chapter 102: 3 Months Later Part 2

Despite the grade of the Arrow Beam Skill being quite low, the skill requirements were very high and was one of the reasons that it wasn't widely used or learnt as it was a skill that required lots of training and practise, yet only had minimal effects that were not useful to most.

However, Damian didn't see it that way and was infatuated in learning such a great skill that not only taught him how to solidify his energy and shape it into an arrow, but also taught him how to integrate different elemental energies into the arrow.

For an Internal Cultivator, most things required the cultivator to have a sharp mind that would allow them to have complete control over their Internal Energy. It was very mentally draining to wield one's Internal Energy and required lots of practise until one is skilled in its use.

The Energy Beam Skill was an Internal Cultivation Skill and as most archers were External Cultivators, there weren't many people that cultivated it and Damian was one of the first in the Aria Branch of Akegria Academy to cultivate it.

The first step of the skill was needing the user to be capable of solidifying their Internal Energy outside of their body and it took Damian 1 week of constant training and practise, while also researching in the library about the properties of energy and how its solidifying works.

After that week, he had managed to solidify his energy, but he was still incapable of shaping the solidified energy or sustaining it for long periods of time.

That led him to the next step which was focused on shaping the solidified energy and took him another 1 week to accomplish.

After that, he spent another month practising with the Arrow Beam Skill and had learnt better energy control and how to imbue the arrows that he created with elemental energy.

He had two different arrows, that weren't ordinary arrows made of attributeless energy, that he had created. The Fire Arrow was an arrow that was completely formed of flames and could be used to set the opponent on fire or burn something.

The second arrow was the Explosive Arrow and compressed large amounts of fire energy into the arrow that would all be released upon impact where it would cause a small explosion.

Damian's arrows could only sustain themselves with the energy that he provided them for a few seconds, so he needed to make sure that he fired them accurately and with great force and speed in order for the Arrow Beam Skill to be effective.

With that, Damian had already spent 2 and a half months training in the use of the bow, in which he would only pause to rest, recover his energy, cultivate sometimes and research in the library.

Damian had felt that his mastery of the Arrow Beam Skill had reached the High Level where he had 70% mastery over the skill and Damian felt as though he only needed to practise and use it in combat against moving targets in order to increase his mastery further.

Because of that, he had completed one of the necessary requirements for becoming an Inner Academy Student and all that was left for him was to earn 1000 contribution points, to become a student that was in the top 10,000 overall academy students and to pass the Inner Student test.

For the rest of the 3rd month, Damian trained in his techniques and skills that used his Maxwell Fire Soul Spirit and also practised in Shadow Techniques, that were the only reason that he had managed to avoid Larry's attack that could have killed him.

He had one month left until the bi-annual Inner Student test and before then he had to meet the rest of the requirements to become an Inner Disciple that would need quite a while to complete.

However before that, Damian had something that he had been waiting to do, and despite knowing that it would place a bigger target on his back, he still wanted to follow through with it.

[Utsusu do you think I am capable of copying another Soul Spirit now] asked Damian.

{Yes it will be possible for you to do so, but you would need to be wise in your choice as it may be a while before the host can permanently copy another Soul Spirit} affirmed Utsusu.

[Utsusu what are the other ways of copying Soul Spirits that aren't permanent] asked Damian who could no longer suppress his curiosity and wanted clear answers and information from Utsusu.

Seeing how eager Damian was to find out, Utsusu decided to tell him how it would work no longer feeling that it was suitable to leave Damian in the dark about his own abilities.

Damian had grown and developed massively since joining the academy and it was only right that Utsusu informed him of the basic uses of his ability.

{Okay there are two ways to temporarily copy the Soul Spirit of somebody else. Either you physically touch somebody while they have their Soul Spirit activated, then you can copy their Soul Spirit, or you can temporarily copy an ability by receiving an attack that somebody launches at you through their Soul Spirit} answered Utsusu.

[When will I be able to do that] asked Damian who knew he was yet to be able to do that and wanted to be able to do so.

{Well you can do it, but you aren't skilled enough yet in the use of your changeable energy and your body won't be able to withstand the shock of suddenly gaining a new ability, which may cause the host some backlash. It will also require you to become more skilled in the use of energy and skills as you will need to be able to use the Soul Spirit after temporarily copying it, which will be hard to do as you may not have ever used that type of ability} stated Utsusu.

{I would recommend you to wait until you have permanently copied 3 abilities and after your body has become accustomed to using different elements and abilities before attempting to temporarily copy abilities, but the host can attempt to do so at his own risk} advised the system.

[Alright I will follow your advice, unless I have no choice but to go against it, but for now, I will permanently copy my second Soul Spirit] decided Damian.
