Chapter 2367: Clash in audience
Chapter 2367: Clash in audience
Yagrit looked at the young man and said.
"Let's try to go with the first option.
The second option... it could only be a last resort. Anyway, the chances of the first option being a success are way too high.
Now, you go back and don't give him any reason to suspect you. I will try my best to hide from it. But I not confident that I can hide from him forever. He is way too resourceful. But I can assure that I will be the last to be found."
The young man nodded and left, while Yagrit went on her own way. Before she disappeared, he looked at her back, longingly. Soon, he shook his head and went back. He was a bit cautious, thinking that maybe, Sam might have a clue about his plotting.
But after some time, noticing that there is no sign of any vigilance or suspicion from Sam, he relaxed a bit.
This time, whenever Sam went on a break, he started conversing with other members of the team. Mostly the people who came here following Drik. Every time he finished a conversation with a member, he left them perplexed and in a state of indecision.
However, that only made him smile, instead of feeling unsure.
For some reason he believed the people that are indecisive are the best choice for this. Once they are persuaded, then he can use them to persuade the others. And he won't have to think too much about the reasons.
These indecisive people who convinced themselves will provide enough reasons just get some assurance that they haven't made a mistake.
Also, if they are readily agreeing, then he would have a hard time believing them. After all, no matter how much price Sam has charged, he is still saving them. If someone really betrays someone who saved them so easily, then they are not a worthy teammate.
Particularly, when they are going to hunt someone much more dangerous like Sam and in turn Rashma and Crow.
Soon, he saw some results as some of the indecisive people were convinced and like he anticipated, they helped him lure some other people.
Minutes, hours and days. Time passed, pretty fast.
Everyone is getting more and more restless as they waited for their exit in anticipation. Not just them, even the people spectating are also eagerly waiting.
After a few days, Sam is almost done with the hunt. Only one person remained. Yagrit.
Even Yagrit's admirer also understood this point more or less. He knew that there are not many people other than Yagrit out there and judging from the secret messages he got from her, it seemed like even she was unable to find any other survivors.
There are still some skeletons left though.
Around ten of them. Before they started dealing with them, Sam called everyone for a meeting.
"There are only ten creatures left. They are all also of same kind. We have dealt with a lot of them in the past few days.
So, it won't take much effort for us to deal with them as well.
That means, today we can finally get out of this. However, I regret to say that I won't be able to help you deal with all ten of those creatures today. As I promised you guys, I cannot let someone else who didn't buy the ticket have the same ride as you do.
So, I am going out to make sure they step out of the ride before we leave this place.
For that, I need to spend a bit more time out in the field than usual. This rat has found itself in a very cozy hole, hiding from me. I now need to go and dig the whole mountain to bring it out. Anyway, no matter what, I will be here in a few hours, before deal with the first six creatures. Rashma will help you deal the decisive blows, so you don't have to worry.
Crow will also lead in the formation operations. Not like it needs much attention."
Hari looked at Sam and wanted to say something, but he didn't.
Sam gave a sweeping glance at everyone there. Maybe Yagrit's admired is a bit too paranoid, however, he felt like Sam's gaze has stayed on him for a tad bit longer.
He brushed it off as him being overly vigilant. He made sure that he kept all the conversations under the wrap, he also left some bait in his words to ensure that if someone were to betray the plot, they would have outed themselves by now.
He calmed himself down and started working with the rest.
They started luring the skeletons. All ten skeletons they have right now are at the violet level. So, they have to bring them to black level and then the peak level and finally destroy them. It will take some time.
While the team is hard on work with a lot of them having the thoughts to betray Sam...
Sam is standing on a large rock as he looked into the horizon, while he stretched his body with a wicked grin.
"This hunt should be interesting. I want you see what you can do to resist me."
He said it out loud. He knew the spectators will listen and he wanted to ensure they heard his thoughts. The Dean of the Heimdall academy gripped the armrest of the chair he was sitting on. From that point, the whole stone chair cracked into bits and pieces.
He stood up and looked at Chorus, who is still as nonchalant as ever.
"You have such a bold student."
"He is not my student. But you are right, he is way too bold."n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"Maybe you should have taught him that, this much boldness is not a healthy thing."
"Nah, it is a bit refreshing."
"You do know that if he even hurts so much as a hair of my daughter, it would mean irreconcilable war with Heimdall academy."
"Oh, we crossed that bridge a long time ago.
The day you sent your forces to bring him out of the gambler academy, you already pissed
that guy off.
I heard that he embarrassed the Zeus academy, just because one of their students spit in his
soup. Do you really think, he would let that shit go?
In a way, you are the reason that your daughter is going to get hurt."
Chorus said while yawning. The Dean almost lost it. Dove who was standing on the side, nudged Chorus with her elbow.
"What? I am just kidding. Everyone knows that her daughter did it to herself."
The Dean couldn't take it anymore and made a move. However, before his move could even register in the minds of people, he felt a warm breath on the back of his head.
"You should learn to control yourself. Losing temper just because of this? There is still a restriction on killings, you know."
Chorus's voice, reverberated in the ears of everyone there as if it is a whisper. The Dean's attack disappeared into thin air. Chrous could still be seen in the same spot he was in before.
The Dean turned around to look, no one is there, but still there is that warm sensation on his neck along with a slight prick. A slight prick that made a drop of blood appear on his skin.
His body trembled and fear gripped his heart.
Chorus looked at him and said.
"You don't want to miss what is about to happen next, don't waste your time on me."
The Dean looked into the screen. Chrous then looked at a certain direction into the crowd. Dove was surprised.
"What happened to you? You never make a move. You haven't even made a move when the academy was attacked."
"When academy was attacked, fight has already broken out. Now, a display of power is needed to ensure a fight won't break out."
Dove didn't understand. She looked in the same direction as he did, but found nothing but the
idle crowd.
Then something on the screen caught her eye.
Sam is hovering over a certain area. His body slowly transformed. He turned silver with partial lightning fusion. A spear conjured up in his hands, with condensed lightning.
He threw that bolt, aiming it at a certain spot.
*BOOM*
The lightning landed. With an explosion, the concealment formation was broken, from within
revealed, Yagrit who looked at Sam in horror.
Sam grinned and threw another lightning at her.
Yagrit dodged the attack and gritted her teeth. She took out a doubled straight sword and
jumped into the sky.
*SWOOSH*
Sam threw another lightning at her. This time, she slashed the lightning and closed the
distance at the same time.
Sam distanced himself from her and threw another attack.
She cut that one down too and came at him. When Sam was about to meet the attack, she
disappeared from the spot.
Sam clicked his tongue and chuckled.
